I think I was at somewhere between 120 and 160 runs across 5 characters before I gave up. In that time, I'd only seen maybe 4 shards drop in total at all (and only 1 shard for the red dragon armor, and only 2 red dragon helms).

I think I've ran this approximately 120+ times. I saw a total of 3 SoS shards drop.
I got to roll on one of them and lost a roll 91 (out of 100) to the next guy with a roll of 92.
He quit DDO soon after never to return. Yeah, that was almost 2 years ago...  Sad

PS.: It's gotten to the point where people loot them even if they don't have a single THF toon and custom build an Alt or TR for it.

Yeah I find the time farming them will take longer then a "bug" making them tradable happening again.

I got most of my hard to find things during those days. Was well worth it for the farming impaired.

i'm amazed they never rolled anything back...i guess it took too long to do a fix?

Because at the time, it was the only reason many people logged on. Being able to complete an item they spent literally years farming for just via trading injected some much-needed enthusiasm into DOO. They got the shiny thing they were after, and wanted to play with it. It didn't last long, but it happened.

It was going on for a long, long time before it really went public.

After it made it's way to the general public the marketplace chat was hilariously crowded with people trading seals and shards on Argo. At that point I think there was a Turbine post along the lines of "please don't do it".

They knew they were obsoleting half that gear anyway in a few months and the shards and seals would be essentially worthless.

I just got that impression after you spent 13 pages calling out eladiun for being an interwebs bully when anyone who's been posting on here already knew that.  I mean, he's proud of it and hardly tries to hide that at all.

I got a 5 point infraction for posting something along the lines of "People are trading them in the marketplace, what rock are under?" in response to a "What bag exploit?" post.

I stopped counting at 250 runs. A friend passed me one out of pity (his third) and then about 6 weeks after that I pulled on on my bard.

Then I quit playing a month after that.

Also, penis.

over 100 runs.  I have 5 characters that got the base sword of shadows on 20th completions.

I pulled close to 40 flawless red dragon scales.  I have 1 seal, 0 shards, 0 esos scrolls.

I have on eSoS on my main.  I'd say it took about 50 runs in total to get.  Had all the ingredients, only missing the base item - but it appeared on my 20th reward.

Was a relief as my 20th rewards usually skunk me.  My divine is sitting at 60+ runs of ADQ without seeing a torc.

I have two of the base item, scrolls and seals and no shards.
Not sure how many runs, I used to run it all the time but don't bother much anymore.

My main toon has been quite fortunate in that regard, compared to some of the stories here.

I got my base SoS on my first-life Fighter in a heroic run with Guildies (it was up for roll, I came in second to a TWFing rogue, but he reconsidered and passed it to me).  Once I capped him (level 20 back then) I started hopping on EVoN5&6 runs when they popped up on the LFM, picked up one SoS Seal fairly quickly, but it was about 18 or 19 completions before I saw to my wonder the rare SoS Shard in my name in the chest (had seen 3 total in all that time, none put up for roll).  On my 20th completion, I had another base SoS in my end rewards list, so grabbed that one as well.  Bought a scroll off the Auction House for too much plat, and now I run with both the Base and Epic versions when I TR.  None of my other alts has gotten so much as a sniff at SoS pieces or parts.

I'm quite happy, and I absolutely love using them.   Cheesy
