Just saw this but you cannot seriously be comparing a gear swap with 5 years of a build I seriously worked hard on getting the way I liked it, playing a race most min maxers would shun me for and making it work for me, now being made not only obsolete but told "haha you have to be a healbot..."

No offense to any cleric who thinks these new domains are the cats pajamas but I seriously loved that in ddo I could make my elven undying court cleric who lobbed death spells like no ones business, could destruct mobs from a distance and implode with impunity. I had fun when people said "go grab Kam" I was one of the few clerics people would go "okay we can just duo this shit Kam's got this. And now breaking her out will be a chore, relegated to healing raids only and that saddens me.

so yeah its not an over statement I played her on Lama I even tried rearranging feats giving her the damned dragon marks to see if that helped and it didnt.  So yeah sorry I reserve the right to stay pissed the hell off.

Actually, now that I think of it clerics could use TWO casting trees:

Necromancy and Evocation-based.

The evo-based would have little to no spell pen but a lot more spell power and would be evocation-based. It would give some fun new toys to evokers.

The necro-based would have less spell power boosts but would give more spell pen and would be necro-based. It would also give some fun new toys to necromantic divines.

The advantage and disadvantage both in this is that to REALLY be a complete casting cleric you'd have to dump either protection or healing trees. At the same time though you could ignore one of the offensive trees and get only things that pertain to your preferred approach. So if you want to focus on evocation and damage dealing you could do that and still take healing/prot. Ditto for necromancy. And you could focus on evocation/necromancy much easier when unnecessary things from the other style of casting are in a separate tree.

Maybe I am just tired of changing things, I rolled with the punches with the wounding puncturing nerf knew it was too good to last.

never made an batman or exploiter build, don't have not one shiradi caster period.

Didn't balk when they first broke implosion then refixed it slightly, didnt whine when they messed with my Pale master.

But this is too much, the one thing that truly kept me loyal to ddo was build options not being limited to one function. Especially coming back from playing mmos that had "tank, healer, crowd control, dps" syndrome.

There was no reason whatsoever for clerics to get shafted this way no reason in the world with all the feedback plenty of us playing divines have left and things we asked for for these 2 domains to be our only options. And sorry if I can't get hopeful that they will remember us especially given the history. I have learned in 5 years if something is put in incomplete into ddo its going to stay that way a long time till someone else comes up with another idea to scrap it (cough PRE's anyone?) ugh my hopes really sank when we got "even though this is an alpha showing of the enhancements we already know some trees will be released unfinished."

So no I have no want anymore to keep adapting this time I am taking it personal because its a character I put love and care into im tired of rolling with there idea of evolution especially when, when it comes to caster clerics its a De-evolution.

its one of the few joys I will concede to.

I laughed at all my guildies who pre-ordered the expansion, then told them they can't have my stuff.
