Bah, lol.  It is funny that a bunch of us that went ahead and bought the xpack cannot get it to load onto our accounts.  Oh well.

I think it's awesome they won't detail what's going to be in the expansion. I can't remember if they said anything about the MOTU stuff before it came out (number or quests/raids/challenges etc) or not.

I don't think they listed the number of quests, specifically.  They did identify that there was a raid and the realm of Faerun.  MoTU added 14 quests, 1 raid, 3 challenges, and 4 adventure areas.  For $80 bucks on the collectors edition.  This is $50 bucks for the collectors edition.  Any chance we will see 9 new quests/challenges and 2 adventure areas?  That'd be the minimum to be equivalent.

Let's be serious, the new xpac is $90 for the collector's edition. You don't get the equivalent of the MOTU edition without adding on the $40 legendary thing.

LOL the forums just went down, guess they didn't want to many complaints.

BTW I bought it, yeah it could suck but I like shiny stuff, and to be honest I have spent more on food and that last about 12 hours

Same here.  I probably spent 200-300 hours in MoTU content over the last year, minimum.  At $80 that's a lotta entertainment for the money.

    Complete Pack 4495 Turbine Points

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/416995-Shadowfell-Conspiracy-FAQ?p=500...

Pre-order doesn't make any sense.

I'm thinking the 'complete pack' for 4495 will have just the Shadowfell Conspiracy content, with all 3 Iconic Heroes, and Shadow of a Doubt Expansion Quest (Heroic level 15 only).

I'm guessing it will not have the Greater Tome of Epic Learning (1 per server) (More), 3 Character Slots, One +2 Skill Tome per character (More), 2,000 Turbine Points.

That's just a guess but otherwise you'd actually be paying more ($49.95 is more expensive than 4495TP's).

MOTU was because we knew it had Epic Destines which were the selling point.  People didn't really focus on content because of that.

I was actually considering buying legendary for the +3 umd skill tomes.

Fortunately the legendary tomes are for all skills except umd.

Back to GW2.

The epic xp tome for all characters might make it palatable for people with a lot of alts. Free skill tomes with the spell power changes aren't worthless either.

So I'm totally unclear on this latest update with regards to VIP. Is there a post or a FAQ that tells me what I get if I'm a VIP (other than continually boned)?

I'd try and find this on the new forums, but they are a giant clusterfuck.

Don't worry Azog, I got your back...  Paid my fair share for us...  Average paid per player just went up...  Spend yours on some good red wine, post a pic, and I will be happy...

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

That was asked at least once directly to Cordovan on the forums, and no response. Turbine clearly does not want to commit to a quest count or the existence of a raid.

Having looked at that pack, and having read about the borked changes to spell crits in U18 on the DDO forums today (hopefully NOT WAI), I think I'll head back to NWO.

Maybe Cryptic can steal the DDO art department and do something about the horribad-looking npcs in that game :p

Marketing translation for Shadow fell: GIMME YOUR MONEY BEFORE WE TELL YOU WHAT CONTENT WE WILL DELIVER ON AUG 19.

For fucks sake.  Just when I thought I lowered expectations as low as they can go go, Turbine figured out a way to crash through the floor.

No news about raids.
No news about how many new adventure areas/quests.
No news about additional Epic Destinies.
No news about Epic TRs.
No news about additional Epic feats.

They even failed to advertise a level increase on the Shadowfell preorder website.

Peter Drucker is rolling over in his grave.  No one at Turbine understands, "Communication is what the listener does."

I'd try and find this on the new forums, but they are a giant clusterfuck.

VIP includes:

Access to All races (some require Favor unlocks)
Access to All classes (some require Favor unlocks)
Access to All quests except MoTU and the upcoming Shadowfell Conspiracy (note: MoTU does NOT include Druids Curse or

The High Road, but pretty much every other quest in Eveningstar.  Although, I'm not sure you can get to Eveningstar without owning MoTU.)
Access to All Monster Manuals
Enter quests on Hard/Elite on first time
10 Character Slots
Shared Bank - 20 slots
500 TP per month
+10% XP earn
+10% movement rate in public areas
Plus some little stuff that doesn't matter much (create guilds for free, priority login, max mail items, max auction items, etc)

First I wouldnt say no one at turbine understands...but yea some that control the message kinda miss the point at times.
More than 9 quests. More than one adventure area.
No additional ED's...that will be after xpack.
Epic TR other TR stuff post Xpack. It may slip in...but I would rather be later.
Enhancements as of today are going out with the xpack. This may change.
4 Iconic things.
1 owl bear.
Raid? Hrm....no comment.
Spell crits--may be a bug..well, is a bug, but it may just be reporting wrong. The reality is it was a old bug fixed, that is now doing it right...but it was wrong so long it became WAI...or some dev speak like that. Basically we reverted the whole enhancement system back to the original...there was bound to be some pain. Again, not the way I would have planned it, I just do what they say.
