Yeah, not sure why the devs seem to be against it.
The reason is clear - the existing TR mechanism of being able to TR at 20 instead of at cap is not Working as CURRENTLY intended.

They will come around. Those of us that read/listen to the forums knew this wave was coming.
I hope you documented that you knew it was coming and warned someone via e-mail before Glin made that post.
This smells like a pet project. A solution to a problem that "solves" the problem the way someone WANTS to, rather than the way it should be solved. There will be a lot of resistance, and even if the person "comes around", coming around won't be their idea, they'll resent that they had to, and it'll be messy.
My money is on the live version of this being as different from what Glin outlined as the current Live version of CitW is from what was shown on Lama.

Personally..I'm in the 'no new systems' camp, lets just build fucking cool stuff.
Systems is where everything...EVERYTHING breaks.
The guts of this game are super fragile...more fragile than anything I've ever worked on...so screw it, lets just make epic dungeons like Myth Drannor(pre 4E), and the Undermountain, and Barrier fucking Peaks. Big rooms with 12 dragons, revenge of the Titans who eat Giants for brunch, and finish the Underdark as a true epic 10 hour dungeoncrawl like it should be.
Hell invade Evening star with Mind flayers and have the flying cats turn out to be long lost alien spellcasters from beyond take over.
This sort of thinking is inconsistent with what was put forward by Glin and the trend we've seen in the past several years.
It would be great if this works out for the game and for you, but I remember the outcome of developers that tried to learn from past mistakes and sincerely looked for solutions that aligned player goals with company goals.
Keep your resume updated.
