Free Augments from DDO Store

Log into the highest level character on your account and take your pick. Or, as smart poster Madcow43 stated, just click on SHOW ALL instead of having it filtered for your character, and then you can select level 25 augments.

The augments are bound to account.  I could not place on the Plat AH or on the Shard AH.

I could not get a toolkit, or 5, or 10.  But I can get augments of my choice.

Code = AUGM01

Yeah, this is working.  However, if you are on a lowbie at the time just check the box for show all items.  Just did so with Numsi and got the +14Prr augment without issue.

Yah, I got Feather Falling, Deathblock, and Blindness Immunity augments (220 TP normally) for just 25 TP. Nice!

I would recommend Insightful +2 (unavailable from vendors) or a ML24 blue (1 comm and several hundred K worth of relics).

I guess buying lower level unvendorable augs would be OK, but the only one I can think of offhand is Deathblock. FF/Blindness/etc are garbage and available for epic tokens and on the AH if you really need it.

As nice as this offer is, it still isn't enough to unblock that stupid fucking resource eating/spiking Awesomium shit to get it.

I have a very decent machine for this game and that fucking shit spiking up to as many as 14 processes PER ACCOUNT LOGGED IN is a fucking joke.

This is the worst thing about that program. I cannot open the store or i will crash the game so I have come to the decision that fuck the store, the webstore morons will fix/change this in a year or 2 and by then I should have 10-20k TP saved up from free favor points.

What I do is erm ..launch launcher, cut awesomium.exe from Turdbine folder, paste it somewhere.
Then just move it back before starting launcher next time because it would download it otherwise anyway.
It's stupid to do but the game loading times/lag/freezes are definitely better on my ancient system.

Or just use PyLOTRO and skip the Turbine launcher.

But really, looking at it for me Awesoium takes up at most 50KB per client instance... who cares about that?

And if you do care for whatever misguided reason, you should be thanking Turbine for turning on multithreaded mode - most or all of that usage was already there, it was just hidden inside dndclient.

Crashes your internet? Like, flaky ethernet driver? Flaky router? I guess that many threads could be making a lot of simultaneous connections, but it shouldn't be any different than having a bunch of Chrome tabs open. And a lot better than running torrents - torrents will crash crappy routers pretty quick.

Its most likely a flaky router, cdr. But it handles torrents with no prob whatsoever. Has done for 1.5 years. The crashing only started when the un-awesom thing was brought out.

If i leave my torrents on no ddo. perfectly fine. torrents off and ddo on? Trouble starts unless i cancel those pesky processes as quick as i can when i log in..

That's pretty weird. Awesomium is pretty much just Chrome (the Google browser). It doesn't cause me any issues other than a bit more RAM and CPU usage - I do kill it when multiboxing to keep the CPU spikes down, every CPU cycle counts when you're running 6 clients.

I haven't fully tested if disabling Awesomium actually helps me dualbox/login faster/swap characters faster or anything, but this looks like an even simpler way to disable it if you want:
Set the file security on AwesomiumProcess.exe for "Traverse folder / execute file" to Deny for all users. File exists, can be read and checked it has the correct CRC etc but cannot be launched.

1. Right-click AwesomiumProcess.exe file -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Change Permissions -> with entry for Users selected click Edit.
2. 2nd entry in list is "Traverse folder / execute file", add check mark in the Deny column. OK, OK, etc. to save. Windows gives a warning about Deny settings taking precedence over all any Allow settings.

If you ever do want to use the in-game DDO Store/Help Tickets/etc, just go un-check that Deny.

Seems to do what you want with no hassle. Will see if it actually speeds things up for me.

You copy the whole folder to a new area and can run it. I run 2 clients, leave an account logged in to hold the ship (from the old days where it would bug out / can invite others to the ship without guildies on it).

Due to the memory leak (and zooming issue because it annoys me), I also leave 4 copies at the login so I can relogin faster after a client crash.

Yes, that is the worst way. I kept it simple for someone who may be as intelligent as you since you have proven you don't know a fucking thing.

I like how you are as useful as tits on a boar. Instead of providing a solution, you just badmouth people on here. Feel better?  Roll Eyes

Try the PyLOTRO launcher. It only requires one DDO environment, even if multi-boxing.
