No walls, both laptops are in the same room as the wifi, and like 2-3 feet away.

Ok, grey mouser, whatever the hell you guys did during the network maintenance, good job.

Logging into the game 2 times now has been a fast event for once. No "not responding" in the game window after character selection. I have yet to try zoning into necropolis or sands, but I have seen on the official boards people say that they are better too.

I am gunna run to the bank and see if the bank/TR cache loads faster.

Edit: Ok, zoning into harbor from Korthos was much much faster. While still a little bit slow, the bank did load the TR cache faster. Zoning from Harbor to Market was markedly faster, didn't even have time to get a fresh cup of coffee.

But in all fairness, there is only 1 market and 1 harbor instance up on Thelanis right now (2 am PST).

But sweet jesus. Logging in to house C went fast, and entering the crafting hall? That was like greased lightening.

I may be premature, but whatever 'network maintenance' you guys did, thanks a shit ton for it.

I was fucking wrong, and fuck you Turbine you fucking retarded redheaded cousin to my stepchild.

I have never, and I repeat NEVER experienced the first time logging in DC bug until today. 3 goddamned times today. Add to that the load times and 'not responding' started showing up again today.........

Fuck you fucking parasite fucking piles of fuck that won't fix your fucking shit.

The only good mother fucker you losers have there I exclude from this post, but each and every one of you other fucking lazy mother fuckers that drag the game deeper into fucked up should all go get buttraped by a goat.

Fucking lazy pricks. Fix your fucking shit. What the fuck is so hard about that for you assbags?

Now I have to restart my machine because of the fucked up Gamma that ONLY FUCKING HAPPENS WHEN YOUR GODDAMNED CLIENT DC"S FOR NO FUCKING REASON.

I really want to like Turbine. I really do. But you goddamned idots over there are so goddamned clueless that I honestly don't really care if the game dies and jobs are lost anymore. You reap what you fucking sow assholes. You make made in the China look like fucking perfection.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.

I have never seen that so it HAS to be your machine.  Tongue
... Now I look forward to seeing it soon.

It seems that Turbine wants everyone to have the same issues - kind of like the "flattening of the XP curve" where they are using a lawnmower to "balance" things and not let you run a quest more than 3/4 times? "We noticed that some people liked certain quests more than others. This makes the dev who made those quests cry. Instead of improving the other quests, we are going to take away the reward of running your favorite quests. Fans - fucked by Turbine logic"

BTW - I still see the decon issues (client freezes and shows as unresponding for about 5 seconds). I never had that before about 2 months ago.

Do not make the mistake of confusing me for a squishy love struck dolt. I respect MajMAl. He is fucking mostly honest. Other than that, fuck the others. I used to respect MadFloyd (MadJero here?) as much as MajMal, but he is a closet hiding can't take the heat pile of fuck too anymore.

Fucking they want motherfuckers to spend money with them, but here is how it is:

What Turdbine is offering players to buy is a rusted out '68 charger they slapped a rattle can coat of primer on, that has great potential.

What they are  actually selling is a '78 Ford Pinto with 3 flat tires a hole in the radiator and a transmission that slips, that needs to be hauled off for the $50.00 scrap it is worth.

I wouldn't be a forum account TR2+ if I were a fanboi, thanks for that though cunt, I give credit where it is due, and have no issue backpeddling and/or calling them out when credit is completely undeserved.

Yeah they can go fuck Fernado for all I care, all every one of them aside from MajMal ever did was keep their mouth full of Fernado's dick anyway the last 4 years as the game slipped into bug ridden 1/2 completed hell anyway. I was so close 3 times tonight of posting saying I would re install lamannia again, but just couldn't get myself to post it and thus commit to it.

Thank fucking god.

Here is my playtest of your fucking shit Turbine: Your servers are fucking junk. Outdated. Slow. Whatever. You should hre web designers that do not wear diapers and can understand the job they need to accomplish. Your games have more fucking bugs than my mothers 1918 fucking house.

As far as my machine? well, the actual machine is solid, but being as to I have a fucked up knee and can't work on it right now, I have been looking at a lot of porn during the day when the old lady is at work and the kids are at school. That all changes monday though when the kids stay home......... So I cannot exactly rule it out, but fuck man, I have been looking at porn for years and never experienced what I see others post about on the official boards with the first time logging in /insta DC shit until today.

And wouldn't you know it, I say thank you to the motherfuckers and they fucking analbloodfart all over me.

No it isn't my problem. This has been an issue for me for years, and it ONLY manifests after I adjust the gamma/bright when running shadow crypt/ shadow lord.

When I re install a clean client (which I usually do every TR to clear it up, just didn't this time yet) I have NO ISSUES with a DC fucking up my gamma. If.....Not f. Rather WHEN I adjust my gamma/bright/contrast so I can see insdie the necro 1-3 quests even though after I get done with the 1 and done there, I reset to defaults and ANY FUCKING TIME THEREAFTER if the game DC's on me, then the gamma is fucked up for windows/interweb/porn tubes too until I restart the machine.

Had the first login DC problem for over a year now.
Load up launcher, login, get to character selection screen. Choose, time out and DC with "Connection to game servers has been lost" message. Kill client, restart login in under 10-20 sec and smooth after that. It wasn't really bad but it was still annoying.

Did a fresh OS reinstall recently hoping to fix this problem but to no avail.
That was until I found out about ddopreload.exe, its one of the solutions posted here in the vault I think. When the game is preloaded in the cache, I am able to successfully load up any char on the first try.

Here's the link: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/46772187/ddopreload.zip

Just unzip into DDO game folder, launch the game using this executable and see the difference. Hope that helps you.

Na, I just uninstalled all 3 clients. I have no clue how to even unzip a fucking file, I have no computer skills, my brother can look at it later though.

Frankly I am sick of the players having to fix the fuck ups from turbine. They need to start paying players for making their shit work for them, like jjflanigan/aussir on the official boards that came up with the stylebot changes to make that fucking joke of a forum usable by the players.

I am debating in my wee mind whether to load these discs and re install now, or wait until after the monday downtime.

Thanks though for the link.

I've had the long loading screen problem forever. The first time login issue I've had for months. When they did whatever they did during the neverending downtime fix, it did take care of a lot of lag, but lately I've been experiencing some stutter lag here and there, and the blue dragon room in Tor is eternally messy.

Just reinstalled from disks from the assault on stormreach update, and now the fucking clients sit there waiting to connect.

What a fucking joke, I am thinking they are trying to connect to the old ddo.com, but I am too computer stupid to figure out how to look.

could one of you smart fuckers tell me what to do if when following these directions I cannot find a "backup" folder to copy? I installed from old disks because there is no way I am doing a 6 hour download if it can be avoided. fucking bloody motherfuck.

Instructions:

If you previously patched your game client to Update 18 Patch 1 prior to today's (5/30/13) fix at 3:00 PM Eastern, then you will need to take an additional step in order to be able to log into the game. The following workaround should also fix any players stuck in a "running loop" scenario with their game log in. Players currently experiencing a "running loop" issue with their game launcher will also need to reboot their computer, and perhaps manually shut down their game launcher, before taking the following steps:

Click on the Windows "Start" button and choose Computer/My Computer from the list.
(Windows 8 users: swipe in from the right and click into "Search" then type "C:\" (no quotes) and hit enter, then skip to step 3 below.)
In there double-click on your C: drive (may display as "Local Disk C")
Double-click on Program Files (note: if you see "Program Files (x86)" double-click on that one instead)
In that folder double-click on the Turbine folder and then the Dungeons & Dragons Online folder
(Steam users: double-click on "Steam" > "Steamapps" > "Common" then the Dungeons and Dragons Online folder in there)
Open the Backup folder
Copy the entire contents of your backup folder (Ctrl + A to highlight all, Ctrl + C to copy)
Go back to the Dungeons & Dragons Online program folder (Click the Back button in the upper left corner of the folder window) and press Ctrl + V to paste, choosing Yes to All when prompted to overwrite files.
Upon relaunching the game (once the patch servers are back online) it should proceed to redownload the most recent patches.

Alternatively, a full re-installation of your game client would also solve this issue, although this workaround should get your client patched up without the need for a re-installation.

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

This fix was for people that on patch day (whenever that update was released) had updated their clients on that morning, and got borked.

If you are re-installing from old discs, you should only have to do this if you backed up those discs in that six hour window or so.

Are you talking about the original game discs?  Or a backup of the DDO install that you'd made yourself?

Turned out to be a 2 hour download this time. Comcast is trying to sell it's super duper speed internet by giving it to us free for 6 months I found out after my tantrum.

No/yes. Not original disks, but a copy I burned when 1/2 races were released that I have used ever since then. They are so old they have no 'backup' folder in them, I installed 3 clients from the disks, then downloaded a fresh client and had to add the 'backup' folder from the fresh download to the old copies. It worked for one of them, the other two disk installs were tainted and wouldn't launch though.

I only had to actually spend about 4 hours maybe a tad more be able to get into the game without crashing.

If I weren't a fan of the game I wouldn't have had the power to do it again.
