Closed Beta/Enhancements Update

Closed Beta will be launching at the end of this week (Lammania will close shortly to support that).

If you pre-ordered Shadowfell Conspiracy and registered your key in early to mid June, you can expect an email invitation soon. Invitations will continue for later rounds, with priority for VIPs.

Thank you for all the feedback during this enhancements preview! We will spend the Beta period focused on fixing bugs and improving the enhancement trees in general, but have two major changes already underway.

Favored Soul and Cleric: We will be replacing the "Protection" tree with a melee-focused "Warpriest" tree, likely in the first patch after expansion launch.

Sorcerer: Sorcerer will get a new, additional enhancements tree later in the year (likely U20).

I'll save the details for Vargouille or one of the other designers to dig into.

Seems that they got the clue that we don't want to play healbots, but I'm still not getting my hopes up about this tree.

Actually I think it's more like :

I had to kick Vargouille in the ass ( several time ) so that the hint that when the customer globally is against something it is a bad idea went through his two working brain cells.
After much shouting, he had to relent on the single fact that I am the Boss, and has agreed to produce a warpriest tree as soon as possible and to create a new sorceror tree at a later date.

technically there is not less communication but moar! The ratio of communications compared to customer base is actually up this past quarter. Well, we do have to take into account the 20-40% drop in internet traffic, so...  Grin

Didn't you get the memo?

If you haven't pre-ordered and given them cash sight unseen, you aren't a customer, just a potential one.

If you've bought everything up till now, but haven't got the latest yet, same deal.

If you've been sending them cash monthly, but again, not thrown in for the expansion, see point 1.

Potential customers don't count. Repeat customers don't count. Clearly. What have you done for Turbine lately?

At least it makes it easier to decide whether or not to keep shelling out.

I'm not sure how many pre-orders they sold. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say not that many. Out of those who pre-ordered, how many are going to be willing to alpha test this stuff? Again I'd hazard not that many. I guess we'll see. I'm sure someone from here will be in and willing to pass on information.
