Maybe it's just me, but more bank toons just don't help me at all. Unless we get account wide search or you keep spreadsheet with shit you got ( well fuck me ), moar bank space doesn't help.  It helps for a while, but then it fills with shit you forget about and you are back at point where you started Smiley
Gotta cap destinies before it goes live !
Less toons = good thing ( eat that altoholics ). No way in hell I am rolling more after Shadowfell.

I name them after what I load them with...  Crafting, NamedItems, Weapons...TRCache (dedicated to my main TR).

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

Has anyone mathed out how this will affect F2P? That is, I think it's still possible to cap at 25 with only the F2P quests (yes?), but with the repetition penalty and lack of free high level content, will it be possible to cap to 28? If not, then DDO can't really call itself F2P anymore, can it? I mean, I'm pretty sure I'll still renew my sub when it comes due in October, and if not I own everything except slots and bank space... Just curious if there's going to be a Freemium backlash with the cap raise and rep penalty.

The new repetition penalty makes it impossible to run out of quests until they raise the cap high enough that all F2P quests would give 0 xp at 2 levels below cap. The repetition penalty resets over time, so you can theoretically farm a few quests to cap over the span of a couple years.

I think the LoD chain and beyond the rift are the only F2P epics at the moment, though. I suppose a daily challenge, as well.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It seems to me that with current over-level penalties, that it wont be possible to level past 26 on F2P content alone. Add in the rep penalties and even getting to 26 will take 2 years less a day.

So my question for Maj et al is: Is this Turbine's intent? Are you leaning towards giving up on the F2P model? Do you think this new state of the game is really going to attract enough new money to make DDO viable going forward?

Personally, I would think that your repetition penalty plans should encourage players to become subscribers in order to be able to access all the content they need to be able to level. But since you then punitively charge extra for expansions that offer little to no new content like Shadowfail, you're effectively pushing those would-be subscribers away. If you are really re-thinking F2P/Subscription, I'd seriously take a look at how you charge vips for expansions, and at the very least make damn sure you're giving them/us the content we expect for the $ we pay.

Now here's a VIP benefit I'd think was worth the money: quest ransack allows 3x at each difficulty before degrading instead of 1x.

Otherwise, I keep only BTC in my main's bank...  Half the old BTC is trash now anyway.  ASAH auction for stupid amounts?

I'd buy more storage, don't get me wrong...

So Spell Focus 5 items?  Their fix for the incredibly stupid saves in EEs is more power-creep.

Fixing stupid with stupid just makes problems worse.

This is actually pretty important, especially with Feather out-dating your loot every update.  We need to hold on to more shit unless your plan is to never ever TR again.

On starting a typical TR, I've got to clean out the TR cache with 80+ items in it.  It can take up to an hour to move everything I can to the shared bank or on to bank toons.  We get 160 slots and I'm easily approaching that many BtC items on several toons.

One would hope they'd learn from their many mistakes.

I'm looking at 5 more necro DC between ENH pass and the 1 more INT from the level up. A +5 item is 7 more.  Thrown in an enervation SLA and necro might be back on the menu.

it's still addressing an issue in the dumbest way possible.

You can cap to 28 by killing Korthos Wilderness Rares, 1 xp at a time. It'll never be impossible to cap, only impractical.

Latest on the xp nerf
Hey there folks, just an update about the placeholder values that are on Lamannia right now.

Currently, the text that explains the values is bugged and is using old placeholder information.  The actual values we will be using on Lamannia are as follows and are closer to what we would actually go with:

XP Bonus on daily first run: +20%
XP Ransack per repeat:  -20%
XP Ransack caps off at -80%
XP Ransack regained per 18 hour "day" cycle: +50%
XP Ransack regained per other quest run: +0%

Please keep in mind that these are not final values, and we have not yet decided 100% on them.
Also the +5 evocation item was a named item, I haven't looked to much into random lootgen etc.

is it confirmed that this ransack will still be in effect once we're at XP cap?

There will still be plenty of jokes EH content to munch on for EDs . . . but I think the Impossible Demands and Rusty Trombones farming that we do really ticks them off.
