I had to create CR 150 mob in NWN to make the LVL 30 consider them more than a nuisance that could be run past...

It comes with all the phat loot we have. The CR system works fine for PnP where a given party of 10+ characters will have what one ( 1 ) of our DDO carries when it comes to items. In Online games where loot is... well abundant is not powerful enough... The CR system is fubared.

This is nothing unexpected. They will just keep inflating mob CR like they inflate saves and HP, because it requires no thinking or hard work on their part.

With the NWN system,  just the inflating HP, so that LVL 30 characters couldn't one shot the monster, was leading to such aberrant CRs. As it's probably more or less the same system that is used for CR calculation in DDO it's not far off to consider that it's the result of inflated HPs and saves.
( I know the system is described in one of the book )

Nothing about the enhancement pass or new itemization made me want to dust off my 8 past life pale master.  The few DC gained are offset by big jumps in trash mob CR.

On the other hand, PMs were already borderline viable in EE GH and new equip should push them over the top. As long as you don't want to run EE new content, PMs'll be able to cut through anything else. Though I suppose PMs will still struggle with boss DPS vs shiradi or draconic sorc.

PMs are fine in EE GH with the new changed, that don't mean shit if they're gimped in end-game. 

Though a wraith-form shiradi Evocation AM might not be terrible.

There's too much fucking trash in the new quests.  I solo'd EE Tracker's Trap and killed 169 mobs, which only netted Onslaught.  High mob density != difficulty or entertainment.

And the end fight...Killing the pair of Nether Orbs four times is not clever, it's aggravating and one dimensional. If I was a melee, I would have thrown my keyboard across the room in frustration. The devs can do better.

CR is not linked to saves...
At least if they didn't tweak the CR calculating functions.
( they should still be the same than the old NWN ones, and are based on the stuff found in the DMG. )

CR is a combination of Hit Dice, Level, Weapons and a few other things to a lesser extend.
In NWN you could make CR2 mob that always saved from Epic Spells. ( but they had 5 HP. )

Except monsters have a saving throw progression based off of their Hit Dice.  So yes CR does in a way affect saves.

We got a bunch more DC.

61 Necro works good enough.  it's not god-mode but it works well enough especially with the enervation SLA.  This is also far from maxed.

Some mobs like the CR 70 giants require Enervation Scroll+SLA+ Energy Drain + Curse to nail with any kind of reliability.  Just hit 'em with ottos and let the melees kill them.

My issue with this is the lag from the spawns is nuts.

I had 249 kills in the Wheloon quest where you have to run around trying to save your allies after you go into the warehouse and the whole place collapses. 
 
The trash was everywhere.  It was crazy.

Heh,  I spent like 4 hours in that quest yesterday on my monkgimp. Hordes of 20 orcs spawning from nowhere, fucking webs from casters, Shadar kunt spawns, lag from those Otilukes, lag to your death by falling. Billion hp pylons, invisible boss.
I will never do that shit ever again. Fuck those boots.

I just ran the Mirror one.  Geez there's a few spots where it's a bitch.  Some of those rooms are small and those Shadar Kai chain attacks get nasty if those folks get up a full head of steam and the reach on it covered the room. 

Add to the fact that not everybody's mirror happens at the same time and you can get split up.

I DC'd in the mirror one, cam back with no mirror and had to pike the rest of that quest.  What a stupid fucking quest mechanic.
