How would you guys fix DC casting?  Since it’s obvious Turbine can’t seem to get out of the “OHMAHGERD SCPHELLS SHEUD ANLY WERK WHIN A MERB REWELLS AH WAN!!!” mindset.

Example:
What about replacing the “Spell level” variable with “Caster level”?  This would allow Spell Level capped casters (ex Artificer, Bard.) to cast more effectively.  And it would encourage arcanes/divines to stay in their epic destiny sphere without actively nerfing Shiradi Champion.

  • Spell Focus Increases Caster level and maximum Caster level by 1.
  • Greater Spell Focus increases Caster Level and Maximum Caster Level by 1. (Cumulative +2 with Spell Focus)
  • Epic Spell Focus increases Caster Level and Maximum Caster Level by 2. (Cumulative +4 with Spell Focus/Greater Spell Focus)
  • Heighten adds +10% to the DC.  (Heighten enhancements could increase this further.)
  • All Past Life feats continue to just add +1’s to whatever schools they currently affect.
  • Bad guys are capped out at caster level 25.  (They could get the same feats players have to increase it as well.) I think it would only be fair, since Turbine isn’t interested in increasing our casting ability beyond that point.
  • Minion debuff goes away.

Compare the difference between Stunning Fist DCs and caster DCs and you'll see what needs to be adjusted.

Stunning Fist:
10 base
14 Half character level
10 item
05 mastery item
06 Legendary Tactics twist
03 Fighter Tactics
20 WIS bonus (50 WIS)

68 DC
03 Fighter past lives (optional)
03 Racial Tactics (optional)
03 GMoF (optional)
---
77 DC optimal, and it can be applied twice due to Doublestrike.  Only requires Monk level 1 and Fighter level 1.

Divine Evocation DC:
10 base
09 Heighten
05 Item
02 Mastery item
03 Magister twist
02 Draconic twist
03 Epic Evocation Focus
01 Angel of Vengeance Tier 5
30 WIS bonus (70 WIS)
---
65
03 Sorcerer past life
01 Past Life: Arcane Initiate

69 Evocation DC. Requires enough caster levels to acquire 9th level spells (17 for Druid/Cleric; 18 for FvS).  Also requires tier5 enhancement.

Arcane Necro DC about the same as Evocation DC, once you account for the additional DCs from enhancement trees, and slightly higher INT.

You are wrong Carpone, Maddmatt's  50 assassinate works in u 19, therefore it has to be true.
I also want server with 70 stun monks, not some shit fire stance halforc str retards.
Anyway, I TRed to cleric, should get 67 evo, I am full of optimism, will see how that goes.

Overwhelming force FTW.   

A few of us did a BYOH EE WGU pug on Saturday night with 5 FoTW melees in the group and they really weren't an issue.
