I just bought a ML:11 Deadly VI Necklace. Just outstanding added damage. What this is going to do is obsolete most named gear while making drops actually worthwhile for a change. I'd say that a loot pass is definitely needed to bring the raid/named gear back to being worthwhile but I'm loving this...especially with someone that has a kid constantly rolling up alts he wants to gear. Ego Trip.

When on an Ego Trip you can't leave any remains of the previous guy that worked on that particular subject. As such he just had to make sure everything made by previous item creators got trashed.

Everyone’s opinion on this expansion seems to be universally  the same in basic principals with only small variations that can be easily neglected.
The enh. pass's not half bad, au contraire even. Graphics are on the lvl and even a bit cranked up with what can be done considering such an old engine. Bugs are bound to happen and people that play the game got accustomed to them or they wouldn't have sticked around for so long.
What shadows everything, including Shadowfell, is the person responsible for loot decisions, we all know who.
Never have I seen such a negative hype revolving one developer in this game.
Would really be surprised if they don't organize some sort of internal company meeting concerning the plunker, if not him specifically, then all the bad commotion he's caused, hell I'd encourage them to if my opinion mattered in the slightest.

Only person with even remotely similar bad reputation was heheh...*drumrolls*... Fernando.
That was well deserved also, but he wasn't a dev.

This is the Vault, expect weird things like that.

We all love , especially for all the good he did to DDO...

He managed to get more things broken than FoS.

It was ML17, but I got a ring last night with Deadly 5 & +4 Resistances.  No curse or master craft on it.

I bought an ML19 Deadly VI, Accuracy II with a Yellow slot from the AH. And its a cloak which is currently a slot I had free (using Voice and Mantle while leveling).

10k plat.

I dont think the person realised just how insanely good that item is.

It will be very nice for the final bit of Heroic and the little bit of dungeon token farming I do to get the next TR life covered.

Found Deadly 9, Resistance 9 Goggles with a colorless slot.

Sure its level 28, but that is a keeper.

They seem to have fewer restrictions on what goes where, too.  The new loot gen doesn't seem to have the limitations about which prefixes and suffixes can go on Helms, Goggles, Cloaks, Bracers, Gloves, Boots, and Belts.

Honestly what this is going to mean is that there's going to be no 'finished gearset' anymore. There won't be a perfect set because there are too many permutations to items. What there will be is good enough for whatever content you run.

It's not limited to accessories or armor.

I've already deconstructed several Vorpal great clubs and heavy crossbows.

Limiting effects by equipment type was no doubt too much effort for FOS.

You know it's more fun if effects and their locations aren't predictable!  I can't wait to loot a Con  +4 Maul of Swim +7.

Clearly the old loot schedule was negatively impacting player retention.

I can't begin to count the number of times I saw new and old players stop playing because Banishing could only be found on Pierce or Bludgeon.

Pulled a +10 Deadly +10 Accurate helm ML28 w/ Wondrous Crafting.  If only it were goggles.  Apparently you can get a colorless and yellow slot on the same item now: Only 1 bajillion shards on the ASAH.

Bitch all you want about random lootgen, but Turbine finally unfucked the shitty combos (+4 CON of +7 Swim) we saw for years.

One of the named items, the Skirmisher's Amulet I think, that I got from one of the Wheloon prison quests had Deadly IX and Dodge 9%.

My rogue is still completely lethal (67 Assassinate DC boiiii) even though I'm using gear like the epic Abishai set so I don't feel like farming for better items, but I'm pretty sure I'll eventually find stuff that will be better than what I have in every single aspect.

Spybot wrote on Aug 22nd, 2013 at 5:40pm:

I disagree with what he's done, but I don't understand the raging hateboner people seem to have for him. When people are comparing him to Hitler and wishing he'd die of AIDS I think they should take a step back and think to themselves "wow, I am being a complete nutter right now."

I'm a lot more pissed at whoever though it would be a good idea to raise the level cap to 28 without adding any new raids. Even if CitW and FoT had top-tier loot, it would be sad to be condemned to run two raids (one of them an insufferable drag) until they release another raid. Before MotU we had, what, seven relevant raids? Now all of them are pretty much dead, and CitW and FoT are following suit.

If they simply released an epic version of the old raids, even just the devil raids, and added epic versions of their raid loot that can compete with what was once vendor trash, they could easily make a game with some semblance of an endgame. We already know they have an epic version of Shroud laying around.

Of course, this won't happen. I recall a quote from FoS, in response to asking if DQ epic items (which are still pretty hard to obtain) would be buffed, saying to the effect "why would you want your old epic items if new ones are coming out?"
