Assuming the above calculations are valid, what's the optimal quarterstaff to use?  Stout Oak Walking Stick?  Random loot Something of Stunning?  Sireth does not benefit from Shillelagh.

I'd think a (new) Impact II or III/Stunning lootgen would be a good workhorse stick. That would add another .5 or 1 W multiplier for the new style Impact prefix.

Maybe a Dreampiercer for orange named to level drain them down to size, although you lose Shillelagh.

Outstanding suggestion.

Any idea if the TWF changes are intended or not? I have a 9Drd/9Mnk/2Ftr build with an unused LR20 heart but I don't want to waste it on a bug that will be fixed.

I could make a rationalization why allowing TWF feats to affect animal forms is necessary, but it's anyone's guess if this was intentional or not.  Hell, they couldn't even make a simple change like removing Dodge stacking when that was their intent.

I'm with you, I'd just hate to waste my heart. I think I'll stick with my current version that maxes doublestrike until I get a better feel if the TWF changes are sticking or not. Maybe I'll use an plain old lesser heart to redo feats and see how that plays out. Now I gotta figure out how to fit them in and what to drop.

What feats should you drop for the rogue variant? You end up being two feats short. I was personally thinking stunning fist and no extra monk stances.

Munk, what was your starting stat split and how high is your SF DC while still being able to qualify for Overwhelming Crit? My back-of-the-envelope calcs have a Wis-based version of the 9/9/2 build getting low 70s DCs, but that would make OC very difficult to qualify for.

Also, are Cleave and Great Cleave good to use in wolf form? I've never had them on my wolf druid, so dunno.

Cleave seems to be slow in wolf form. I can't quantify slow, and I'm only up to level 9 at the moment so not to winter wolf yet.

I think I'm going to leave my current druid as a casting/moderate melee spec, but I have a mothballed TR Halfling Monk that seems like a good candidate for a 9/9/2 melee Wolf. Halfling is obviously suboptimal, but at least it gives some more sneak attack damage.

The problem is that since it is a halfling, qualifying for OC is pretty much impossible with any decent Wisdom investment. I don't have +4 or +5 tomes lying around since I stopped playing for awhile after MOTU. Hence, the build would go whole-hog for Wis-based for Stunning Fist.

Here's a rough sketch:

9 Druid/9 Monk/2 Ranger
Lawful Neutral Halfling

Stats

Str: 14 [10]
Dex: 16 [6]
Con: 15 [8]
Int: 8
Wis: 16 [10] (Levels)
Cha: 8

Feats (7 Standard/3 Monk/1 Ranger/3 Epic/2 ED)

1 Empower Healing
2M Precision
3 Past Life: Monk
4R TWF
5M Stunning Fist
6 Dodge
9 ITWF
12 IC: Bludgeoning
15 GTWF
17M Deflect Arrows
18 Master of Forms

21 Natural Fighting
24 Natural Fighting
27 Blinding Speed

26ED Tactician
28ED Perfect TWF

A strong argument could be made for 2 Fighter instead of 2 Ranger, for better tactics DCs and the extra feat (since Ranger 2 at least gives TWF). That would make it easier to fit in the last Natural Fighting feat, which I couldn't fit in due to the arrangement of Monk bonus feats and BAB/level requirements. However, I really like the 75 positive spellpower, the extra PRR, and the extra sneak dice from Ranger. That being said, I can still be convinced to go with the 2 Fighter split.

No idea on gear, aside from handwraps and ToD holy burst ring.

Feedback would be welcome.

On a side note, I also considered LRing the character into some variant of the centered Cleaver build, either centered with Greataxes or centered with Balizardes. If someone can make a compelling argument to go with those rather than the Monk/Druid approach, I'd love to hear it.

Looks fine. Honestly if devotion is that important to you go for it, but with the healing is great as it is on the original, it comes down to personal preference. I rather have more DPS. Plus it kind of sucks that your playing on a halfing Sad

That being said, I'd also reconsider blinding speed. Its more than a convienence than anything when you consider fatal harrier, alacrity, and clickies/casters. 10 PRR/heroic feat would be more useful there imo.

Also, what do people think about Beast Stance : Four Legs Good? Its pretty much knockdown immunity, just like the air savant core ability. It does require you to take dodge though, which actually lets you hit a max dodge of around 30% as all three classes have stackable dodge enhancements.

Are you chaining your cleaves together? I use cleave->great cleave within seconds of each other so great cleave never gets an animation. That always sped it up a little for me.

Four Legs Good is exclusive of Fatal Harrier, unfortunately.

I have already reconsidered Blinding Speed and will likely just slot the third Natural Fighting there. It was more a quick glance placeholder.

Halfling is kinda unfortunate. The extra devotion is partly to make up for the lack of Human healing amp. Maybe once I cap the build and play around in epics I'll TR into a human version.

The possibilities with TWF & staff in WWolf are almost enough to make me pick up DDO again.

Not enough, because after I'd rerolled it'd be the same old shit, but almost.

ETA: Interesting debate, thanks people.

I take it the confirmation that TWF with wolf form is not WAI means that there's no point pursuing this?  :/

I had a wolf-form Druid/Monk build that did both casting (largely for cc) and melee; and it did them both rather well.  So much so that I decided to start the long journey towards completionist, and that toon became my main.  Is there still a way to pull this off, or has the wolf-form hybrid melee/caster gone the way of the dodo now?

I just TRed out of something like this (also working on completionist), 12/6/2 druid monk ftr.  It was working just fine, Sleet Storm and Ice Storm, fight in the middle, cleave like hell.  Alpha strike is pretty fantastic, I think it has the same AOE as supreme cleave, and does 10[w], with extra slashing damage to certain creature types.  The first fighter level was for haste boost, the second was to get whirling steel strike, since I had GS longswords from previous lives (this character started as a flavour build.)

It probably wasn't optimal, especially since I started it before spellcraft and heal became extra spell power, but it was fun, and very survivable, and I saw some pretty awesome crits.

I didn't play too long into epic levels, just enough to get some tokens and ED xp, but it did okay in Dreadnaught on EH.  Probably would have been better off in GMOF or Fury, though.

What's the SF DC you have on your 9/9/2 right now, Mo? I'm still considering the build even with the fix, but obviously SF DCs are crucial.

I can't speak for Mo but my 9/9/2 Str-based is at 50SF DC in Fury with no combat mastery. My guildie who went more Wis-based was at 60 without Legendary Tactics and was just starting up in GMoF.

My build is Warforged with a 14 starting WIS if I remember, and no levelups in WIS, currently lvl 23. Once I got a few more levels and gear I was planning to see where I was and LR if needed to more Wis to get decent DCs.

I would definitely be Wisdom-based. My minimum requirement would be in the area of a 70 DC, which I think I can reach with level ups, gear, tomes, and ED stuff.
