Got an invite - but have to work most of the weekend. Oh well.

My kids will tell me if I'm buying it or not. Smiley

Crushingly disappointed in the game. I wanted very much to love the hell out of it - but I just can't. It has somehow managed to be both a shitty MMO and a shitty Elder Scrolls game at the same time. It's not like they leaned hard to one direction or the other... it's just a badly designed mess of a game all the way around.

I think this beta just saved me from a purchase/subscription.

There are plenty gameplay videos or streams, never believe the hype or trailers.

I had some connection issues.  Got crashed/dropped a lot during the times I tried the beta.  I actually enjoyed my time there quite a bit.  Didn't get to see a whole lot though.

I'm curious, Memnir.  What disappointed you about the game?  It sounds like you got further than I did in the beta testing?  PM if it's NDA stuff...

What did they do to make you feel that it's a shitty game on the Elder Scroll side? I don't really care about the MMO side.

I'll watch gameplay videos a couple weeks into the real launch, I don't really want to judge it in beta.

Not active.  They have only been doing one weekend here and there kind of tests.  No open beta yet.

4/4/2014 for Mac/PC.

June or July for consoles, can't remember which one they said.

I keep hearing people say this is the one they have been waiting for.  Does it look/feel any good?  I feel it is being overhyped and will not live up to the vibe being put out.

After a grand total of two (DDO and GW2), I've had my fill of MMO's.

So anyone else had a go at the open beta, I'd like to read some detailed opinions...

The suggestion that it sucks as both an mmo and an ES game saddens me.

DDO, WoW. GW, Rift, Defiance, Eve, SWtor, AoC, and GW2. are the ones ive been in (im pretty sure im totally forgetting like 5 of em)...

Frankly the current molds of MMOs are too far removed from the cutting edge of what can be accomplished in video games. Someone will make something that will break outta the mold.

Wildstar will be my last bite at this apple.

Pros: Not having another time hole.

Cons: Not knowing what a decent Elder Scrolls MMO would be like.

It probably balances out.

Elder Scrolls games just wouldn't be the same without the console exploits.

It could be worse:
