And an extra missile on chain missile. Its no longer bugged to always give max missiles. 16 wiz= 16 CL on force. 14/4/2 gets +3 from enh=17 CL on force so an extra missile.

42% (if my math is right) force crit is win tho.

I don't know... I LRed and have been playing 14/4/2 sorc/fvs/pal the last few days and I've noticed an increase in DPS.  I mostly spam Scorching Ray/MM/Ruin and throw out some missiles for groups (DBF on EN/EH some too), as well as Energy Burst/Dragon breath when in DI leveling for Karma (which is most of the time lately).

I never took points in Air before anyway and had put the extra points that I wasn't able to spend on more FvS before into frivolous fire savant abilities. 

I'm currently running this.

I've been leveling mostly in DI because I want the karma for Force Criticals PL and so have been mostly running EH/ENs (and certain Crucible runs  Wink ). 

I haven't been disappointed in the few EEs/guild raids I've run in Shiradi either.

This got me wondering about taking this even a step further.  Just spitballing here...

I wonder how 13 Sorc/5 FvS/2 Pal would work?  I also thought about 12/6/2...or something 12/5/3 (pal or monk?)... but couldn't see a lot of benefits immediately for that.

Edit -- Going to this extreme it almost seems like it might be better to to 12 FvS/6 Sorc/2 Pal (grab MM, Scorching Ray, CM).  This would merit the loss of immolation, but grant Archon, DP (light Dot would be nice) and more light/alighment-based spells... certainly more options for fire-immune mobs.   I wonder if these would outweigh Immolation...

Thoughts?

I find that it's a good/quick way to pump out some extra damage every 15 secs.  No save, empower/maximizable, untyped (read: no resistance).  Good for getting rid of annoying casters/nuisances immediately. 

It's not for everything (particularly given its sp cost), but I find it very situationally useful.... and it makes a good SP dump on bosses too.

on a sorc with 4k+ sp enlarge additional cost doesn't matter take it id you want the additional cushion for distance in ee's and toggle it on/off as wanted.

Do metas work for shiradi procs if the universal meta is active, or only if the spell causing the proc is active?

Example: I have Empower active, but for MM I have it specifically set to "Always Off". If it procs, will the proc be Empowered or no?

I just got my caster into Shiradi recently, with enough points to take Rainbow so far, but still trying to figure out how to set my metas to be the most efficient.

alot of people seem to believe you can turn them on and toggle them off for individual spells and get additional dmg on procs.  According to CDR though, you don't get a free lunch with metas.

It's not hard to see that "always off" doesn't work. It's something like a 100 point difference in proc damage with actually having metas on.
