Congratulations on the career move.
I admire that you made a move when you realized the lead designer and you were never going to see eye to eye.
Big move across the country, sunny Cali fits your motif.
I echo some of the guys here, would be interested to hear what game you are part of when you can talk about it, or ready for release.
Thanks! I just leased my new apartment today. It's pretty cool to finally be able to afford my own place.
I have family out here too- that made SoCal beat out the other offers I was looking at.

So epic level Sun's Fury prefixes dropping in L12 quests was your Easter egg from that weekend at Bernie's? Nice touch.
Nah, that was Melange breaking it because he made a mistake when putting a MotU affix back in.

The Superior Stability and Attack Bonus ML increase on Cannith Crafted gear sucked ass and broke leveling gear setups on several toons but meh. I blamed FoS for this
FYI, Cannith Crafting predates me. I've never worked on it. I started with Menace of the Underdark. Cannith Crafting is Piloto. So send your praise/hate on it to him.

Oh, one more thing Solar.
If you're not bound by an enforceable NDA, any insight as to how things ran internally there at Turbine would be appreciated.
Sorry, but I'd rather not burn bridges. I might go back to the East Coast someday. The game industry is small, and it's because of glowing recommendations from current and former Turbinites that I had good offers to choose from as soon as I started looking elsewhere.
I think the only thing I can say is that Turbine is currently stable, as long as Infinite Crisis does as well as they hope it will.
Hey, I think I can give a couple of teasers, though.
The next Anniversary rewards has a tornado in a bottle as one of the rewards you can get. I made that for fun on my last week. It's a throwing weapon that makes a tornado, as the name implies. No saving throw, 6 second AoE knockdown. Damage is something like 18d4 per character level. (Yes, its a throwing weapon that scales with the level of the character using it)
I don't know how many will be given out per player. Hopefully it's enough that people can have some fun with them.
There's some other bottled spells I made with it, like an AoE bottled Flesh to Stone. DC 30+character level.
There's some stuff with guild airships coming up. I don't really know any details, since I was never part of future-update planning.
Other stuff:
Now that I'm gone, the difficulty-based loot has been discontinued. No more different items on Epic Normal/Hard/Elite. I was told it over-rewarded Elite play. Can't say I agree.
Thanks for the fun couple of years, DDO! It's been all of you guys who have kept me interested and engaging with the community.
