It works. You're just doing it wrong if your stones are getting lost.

I don´t like so much XP exploits, are kind of boring after a little while.
Duping or charoned items, that was fun!!
I miss the old days (well...some weeks ago...)

Duping is nice. Gets rid of the grind.
Wish I could dupe the raider boxes to get rid of pain in the navel... It is more of a running contest than a raid and has low drop rates.

Yeah, if only they made them bind to acquire... (yes I know that would have been retarded).

Instances and/or time of day matter ime.

But I can tell you for sure ottos work. I watched someone do it more than once since patch.

If instance matters, maybe we need a way to generate lag in a public instance to slow the servers enough for the re-use to slip through?

I wonder if something like a script to cycle through UMD affecting items would generate a server load as it recalculated?

Or zone a multibox alt into a quest with many enemies and cycle a hireling between passive and active?

Or an AOE effect like a Paladin aura in a crowded area?

Wow, this could mean the shortsighted decision makers might might finally realize there is a financial incentive for fixing the lag on 2049!

Hmmm, this just got very interesting.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

The nice thing about DDO is you just have to wait a little while, then the good old days come back again.

I've tried close to a 100 permutations on wired and wireless with different sized stones, and epic and non-epic Ottos. I had it to a science pre-20.1. Nothing is working now, but to be fair I don't have a lot of otto stones to try. In fact, I'm out.

DD XP stones worked for me. This was my first time ever doing this.

Just levelled 1 thru 7 (stayed at 6 and banked XP) in the past two days using a 15K, 2 x 7.5K and 3 x 4K stones I had banked.

I used smaller Silver DD stones first to get my timing/ritual down.

The most usage I got was 15 x from a 7.5K stone.

This was all done on our guild ship.

I have an old Otto stone too I hope to use soon  Cheesy

The method I had down that worked almost 90% success for me, prior to U20.1, is the following. Now it seems to be garbled. Lucky if I get 33%. Something got cleaned up on timing process or the database handling of commands.

1. Open Shared Bank
2. Double Click Daily XP Stone to get "Yes" window.
3. Disconnect Internet using 'Disable' command on Network card in Windows. (Cable pull works but not as well. Wireless seems to long.)
4. After 2-3 secs from above (You'll see Network connection show 'Disabled') drag the daily stone from your Inventory to Shared Bank.
5. Dbl-Click Raider Box or Comm of Valor and wait for 3 sec timer to finish (this might give an interrupt sequence that helps. It did for me.)
6. Reconnect Network by clicking 'Enable' on Network card.
7. ##KEY## This used to be the secret. When you click 'Enable' a little Windows box pops up showing "Enabling" then "Enabled". Once you see "Enabled" click 'Yes' for daily stone.

The Stone should move into the bank, and you should get XP from stone. Places I had most success were Crafting Hall House K.

This process would work on my Win 7 system at 10-12 secs a run. So about 5 runs a minute. 4k stone  got 20k a minute.

Otto's works all the time. Original stone tested only. Wireless card pulled. Might also work with hearts and raid boxes.

It works fine, I even made a script that makes it work 98 if not 100% of the time  Wink

I love using my old ottos stone and even the new epic stones.

Well, I stoned my main over the weekend and got him to 3.6 million XP in a hurry and the stone is still there for future use.

My method/ritual is less elegant than Free-Beers... I use the pull the ethernet plug method but it worked!

Getting the last 200K xp to cap was a breeze thanks to 50% Sovereign XP Pot   Grin

so old method of:

1. DC
2. Stone into shared Bank
3. Use Stone in inventory
4. Reconnect

Now works only about 33% of the time, before it was more like 70-90%.

Is there a better way to do it? If so, please PM. You DEFINITELY cannot do it with Otto XP stones anymore.

So... if you are DC and put something into the shared bank, it's both in the shared bank, and the character inventory until, an arbitrary period of time, you reconnect or your game shuts down due to being DC?

Given the new boxes are available again (I didn't pick one up last time), do standard methods of recycling work on the new stones or are they non-recyclable. I know the old stones are, but the boat has already sailed on getting one of those...

They xp stones work (using shared bank method) only sometimes. I have the best of luck at night (PST). I assume it has something to do with amount of players on and server latency, but that's just a guess. I do know, middle of the day, shared bank method has about a 0% chance of working for me. At night, I can get it to work about 90% of the time. I also know, the more you do it continuously, the better the chance at losing a stone. So, I do about 4 uses, then go and grab ship buffs or whatnot, and get 4 more uses. That could just be my end, but it seems as the more times I rapidly dc/reconnect, the lag builds until I just go linkdead even when plugged in. And then I lose whatever stone I had.

Edit: This current life, I did level 8-20 using a 20k xp stone (lost it after maybe 10 uses), a 10k stone (lost after maybe 60 uses), and then an 8k stone (didn't use... had to use it a TON to get the rest of exp to 20). Didn't have a heroic stone to use anymore :/ But, at 20, I did succesfully use and keep an epic stone. Cheesy Hope this helps.

Ill confirm that the New Otto's work. Both of em. Me and Some guildies have been passing the 2 that we have around And havent eaten em yet. I'd say we've used both ~ 20 times. On the Boat Everytime.

What I do.

1. Open Inv and the bank
2. Disconnect. (I use Wifi)
3. Move Immediately
4. Wait for a YELLOW connection.
5. Use it!
6. Reconnect Immediately after
7. Wait.
8. Enjoy my ~4m xp Cheesy

Finally we've discovered a way to motivate Turdwhine to fix their shitty ISP. An exploit that works better when there's more lag.  Cool

For clarification, you do click on the stone prior to disconnecting?
Then you hit yes BEFORE reconnecting?

Could you be even more specific with your process please? I'm slow.

i just did this 2x successfully on a XP stone using this above method of DC, Move, waiting for a yellow DC, using immediately, Reconnect, and lost a brand new Epic Ottos immediately after.

This is not sureproof, make sure you use for something you care about.
