My son played DDO last weekend and he saw the pet and I showed him how to change from one companion to another.  He wanted to know what they do. 

"They just sit there and look cool"
"So they don't help you kill anything?"
"Nope.  They just hang out with you while you do your quests."
"Then why did you get it if it doesn't help you kill anything?"
