Ah now that is funny.  So player's council is painting a target on your back, I like it.

Mournlands 1, or Mournlands for short is the hush hush, no talking about it, If you're part of it you can't be a Vaultie pre-pre-release server ( not a beta test server )...
It's a server where a select group of people ( Yes Boys according to our knowledge ) got to play with things before they are shown to the unwashed masses on Lammania.

Oh and regarding having a Target on my back... *shrug*
If I get in that thing ( first I have to apply or somebody does it for me ) I'll fully assume my choices.

At least a small amount of infractions will not stop you from serving apparenlty:

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/434262-Introducing-The-DDO-Players-Cou...

For those of you banned from the DDO forums, but still play and have expressed interest in the Council, now would probably be a good time to ask for consideration to have your forum account reinstatement - if you care.

You can nominate.

Will former ML people be allowed to join? Or do you just pretend to care and then pick the ones you know you can trust to think the way you think.

I bet we can come up with 10 names right away.

Why not make better use of the people on ML? Have you given up because they are too hard work?

And what about the enormous amount of feedback provided when major changes are displayed on Lamania? You end up missing half the bugs even months out from release. Why do you expect the new council to work any better?

Or will it be more a case of:

Turbine: Hey guys, what do you think of Epic Coyle?

Yes-men: Oh boy oh giddy I cant wait to escort him through epic level mephits !

I wonder if FoS will put council members on ignore like he does with ML members.

That is if he is still working there...

I love this whole concept.  it has such potential for epic crying and complaining.  who didn't get accepted.  who got kicked off.  who quit.  why they quit.

Depends if it is all shrouded in mystery like ML - with threats of not just losing your forum account, but game account if you speak out.

With terms limited to one year, start your sockpuppets now to be ready in time for next year's Council.

I'm torn between being optimistic about this or not.

How I see it, it could just be a big joke again prentending they care when they don't. Then it doesn't matter who gets accepted or not.

However, if that council actually does affect decisions on what gets made and how it's made, then only accepting a bunch of fucking brown nosers would be a disaster.

BUT, if they actually man up and stop having their little feelings hurt every fucking time people tell them they make stupid decisions, then this could potentially save the game.

I wonder if I violate any of those rules. Is being told you are never allowed to make an account in any Turbine game a serious violation of the EULA?

Players Council. That's a euphemism for Focus Group, right?

Think of all the great things made from focus groups. Remember Demi Moore's Scarlet Letter movie that ended with a happy ending? For a better quality movie, look at the butchering of Brazil.

If that's not enough to convince people that Player Councils Focus Groups are bad, look at the recently unveiling of the first mascot for the Chicago Cubs: http://bigstory.ap.org/article/chicago-cubs-unveil-clark-its-1st-mascot

Exactly how I'm feeling. I want to believe, I've just been lied to so many times that it's hard to set aside my cynicism. I want to be the Charlie Brown who keeps believing he can kick that football, no matter how many setbacks he suffers. I just dread being the Charlie Brown flat on his back while Lucy/Turdbin holds the football off to the side and laughs.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Nominate me for no other reason I've no ties to anyone on the forums.  I've never been infracted.  I'm in a no-name guild on a no-name server.  I'm the utter definition of 'commoner'.  And for all the same reasons above why I should be on the council is exactly why I'd never be on the council.  I'm the paradox.  Why I would be is why I would not be.

As pointed out, you need to go back to school.

As for the player's council, I wouldn't want to be a member where people know I am a member. It invites griefing.

No matter what ideas Turbine come up with, there will be people who love it and people who hate it. At least, they are trying.

Good luck with ML2.

Turbine has a bug reporting tool that has been essentially broken, off-and-on, FOREVER.  Seriously, it's like something out of a Dilbert cartoon.  Until that's fixed, and fixed right, how can they even PRETEND to listen to their customers?  Give me a fucking break.  Tongue

Ah they are releasing the names of all the people?

Will be interesting to see how many from ML make it to the council. I assume there will be a few. But then again, I wouldnt be surprised if they completely cut off the former ML people and go with a whole new batch.
