https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/434302-Buffs-and-nerfs-that-could-help...

Thread I posted on the main forums with a list of buffs/nerfs that could help with game balance.

Please chime in with some of your thoughts Smiley

I dont see why fire stance needs to have a negative impact on dodge, even after it gets earth stances crit boosts.

The crit boosts should definitely remain at min master forms (level 12).

I also think that earth stance without the crit boost probably doesnt need a 15% dodge cap, id give it the scaling dodge reduction.

Added to my post there btw.

hm ya, true.....without the crit multiplier earth stance would prob be used less, but i can think of a couple builds at least where more defense could really help.

ya and i guess removing the dodge penalty from my suggestion is good.

also laughing at how im biased when i play half the builds i think should be nerfed.

I'm sorry that the OP wasted any brain time on this to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

Your desire to normalise every build possibility is futile and pointless.

What do you think "balance" actually means in a PVE game? That the gimpest build can be made to feel competent against the hardest difficulty mobs?"

TL;DR (I got bored in the preamble where you try to justify yourself)

all wishful thinking anyway. With incoming players council turdbine will pay even less attention to forum posts like this, as they will expect their newly "elected" unpaid peons to sift through the BS for them.

Since when does Turdbine give a damn about suggestions in the forums?

Grin lmao Wow what a long, useless wall of text! You think a dev really wants to read this and is itnerested in your personal views?

Hehe, this is the most amusing thread as of today.

Don't nerf anything UNLESS what you're nerfing is TRULY gamebreaking. Instead, buff other things (classes, monsters, etc.) to even things out.

Turbine has never "nerfed" anything with less than a nuke when it needed a tap from a hammer.  They should do nothing but buff unless its directly costing them money.  (just because I know they won't leave that alone)

They will listen as much to the player council as they will ML, which is almost zero unless you are the 1 or 2 people they actually appreciate.

The ironic thing is, Maj is more active here than ML.

Dodge bonus was broken since its inception, it never bypassed max dodge cap of 25%.

This is not a nerf. QP dc atm is 10+ half monk lvl+ wisdom.

It is clear to me that you barely know what you are talking about and the rest of your wall-of-text is pretty much based on what you read from the wiki. Asking for game balance? The last thing I want is for a 17-year old to dictate how my game should be played.

As mentioned below. Who gives a crap about balance in a PvE game. Fix bugs, don't waste time on "balance".

Far too logical for Turbine, but you are dead on.  I agree 100%.

So we all play Monkchers and Sorcs. How awesome.

The reason why you sometimes nerf the OP is to avoid the WoW situation where a level 80 toon has 12k HP and a level 90 toon has 150k HP.

The power creep has made the game ridiculous for anything other than end game (which is ridiculous enough with bosses with 200m HP).

It was fine at 60. It was fine at 70. It started going downhill a lot at 80.

Kind of like DDO. Fine at 20. Starting to go downhill at 25. Really silly at 28. And who knows how farcical it will be at 30.

You might have been reading the thread where munk was theorybuilding max QP dc, where he added in the cha bonus to tactical feats from PDK.

I never said they'd actually pay attention to PC, it'll probably just be another excuse to not pay attention to any and all suggestion threads.

But it will help the Devs hit their KPIs in ideas ignored.

The real problem with Turbine is they are too small. The people that come up with the ideas are the people who then expand on those ideas and then implement those ideas. They can spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their new baby.

By the time it even hits ML they are so heavily invested in their update that they refuse to budge no matter how negative the feedback.

Maybe this council has one benefit. They council will review ideas very early in the piece, long before Devs have become committed to it, so they will be willing to change.

The problem in the past has been anyone that doesn't love their new idea gets kicked out of the preview program for being mean to the devs.  So all that is left is the yesmen.

I would say its more a case of yes-men, and people who have to politely hint that there is maybe something of a small problem which should hopefully be looked at by the Devs - when what they really want to do is shout from the rooftop how incredibly unbelievably short-sighted and stupid the change is and that the playerbase is going to revolt (which of course turns out to happen pretty much every time).

But then again, the playerbase complains about everything, and everything is always the worst. So maybe it makes sense that the Devs do nothing more than pay lip-service to ML and Lamania, and will do no more than that with the Council.

They dont even use them solely for finding bugs - which should be the minimum they do.
