Post #84 on the main DDO forum nails it. Give the illusion that all is well with a meaningless metric designed so that dissent can not be seen so that differing opinions can be ignored or treated like they do not exist. If the typical Turbine manager was on the Titanic they would nerf the ship until it was sinking. After causing maximum chaos they would all be on the main deck playing music while stating shit was WAI. As pants got wet they would be on the White Star Line forums giving each other up votes.

Cordovan states" I've been considering the future of having a reputation system at all on the forums in recent days, and I think I'm currently leaning toward keeping the current positive-only system in place for a little while longer. I agree in general with those who say it's largely meaningless and has very little value, but I also hear those who like their positive rep, green bars, and the ability to give someone a quick thumbs-up, so if it's easily ignore-able, but makes some folks happy, what's the harm in keeping it."

Pick a random group of passengers, ask them the best method for loading the lifeboats, reject their top 3 suggestions to pick the idea the managers really wanted, and then tell the press that people died because the passengers themselves came up with a flawed scheme for loading the boats.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Smiley Smiley Smiley

Also: ...wait until it became apparent that the ship was definitely going to sink, re-issue everyone with a new boarding pass including the phrase "The ship will sink before reaching its destination. This is WAI and should not detract from your journey experience."  Then they'd have the under-footman make an announcement to the effect that the lack of this information on the original boarding passes was a printing error, while the captain is offloaded to command a different vessel.

Hand out life vests at random, but for $20 you could (one time only) exchange your ill-fitting life vest for a different one that might still not be your size.
