Was it Lieberman that raised hell over children in Fallout and forever changed video games?

Thank you for linking to another thread where vellrad aka "xynot3" farts out more nonsense.

Anyway, lets imagine there's a lot of cheap, easily avaible, and 100% working anticonception in Stormreach, not to mention magical abortions and dangers of pregnant women to lose child while on adventure.

Probably.

Joe Lieberman had a really problem with games, almost to the Tipper Gore level when it came to music.

Roughly at the same time that AG Janet Reno was cracking down on the "overtly violent" TV show Law and Order that caused Michael Moriarty to quit the show, Joe Lieberman and Herb Kohl were pushing to ban games, most notably Mortal Combat and Night Trap. Instead of passing a law, the gaming industry created the ESRB rating system.

Joe Lieberman kept at it for years with little success. Then around 2005, Hillary Clinton jumped on the banning games bandwagon with Joe Lieberman. She introduced the Family Entertainment Protection Act, which would make it illegal to sell Mature and Adult Only games to minors. The bill never became law, but it did find versions of the bill in various states. And the various State Supreme Courts eventually found these laws to be unconstitutional.

Since then its been pretty quiet on the calls to ban games in the US.

H8tank just posted...  After the Great Recycler comment about Icywave, this was a nice follow up...

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

This may be more important than it seems at first. Most MMOs are expansive but lack depth. They say that WoW is a success but is it? A million subscribers out of the billions of computers that are able to run the software is not much of a achievement.

Things like children in residential areas and fish in the sea would help to broaden DDO's appeal. It is a good idea.

Would it be wrong to get that on a t-shirt for my infant daughter?  Not sure the wife would approve though.

Best part is he walked away after the first day and let the thread write itself.
