Probably - but as I said, my Give A SHit is just about depleted. Smiley

Indeed, im a lurker that just registered. because I actually find more truth here then the motherforums, and paladins don't post here Tongue

I would say nice to join, but this the the vault, so GFY Wink

this is just fucking retarded

Yeah, I wanted so badly to reply in the forum about that, but I figure they'll give me a bullshit infraction for saying it.

So, if someone were to log on with an alt account, that they may or may not have, and started reporting fanbois for every little thing, how long would the alt account last?

Looks like it's time to start a campaign of reporting every single baiting attempt by fanbois and see how long it takes to break another one of Turbine's little toys.

I'm not the best at picking up on baiting, and I'm pretty bad at staying on top posts at the other forum, but if someone were to quote the baits here with links, that would probably be enough to motivate me to log in and report the attempts at baiting.

I made a VERY obscure/oblique reference to it, got an infraction which took me over my limit which resulted in a ban so yeah, you could say that.

That's because no-one ever leaves this game.
And no-one is unhappy, or ever speaks out against the developer....
And there are no bugs or exploits either.
Everything is fine - nothing to see here..... move along.

Wow...

Does this mean the Vault™ will become the forum of choice?

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

Lehane wrote on Feb 4th, 2014 at 9:32pm:
im curious, what did you say?

It started with a post (I didn't post it) that in some way broke the Community Guidelines I believe. Someone wanted to know where he could find some information of some sort. Evidently, this information was posted in the DDO Forums originally and removed if my memory serves me.

So I responded and made a post that was something like:

"There are other places where you can find this info out.

Remember, 100 is a magic number!"

Pretty innocuous, right? I mean, there's really no way to know what the heck I'm talking about unless...

Ok, so at that time there was a secret board on the Vault that required you to have made 100 posts in order to see and have access to it. This was a place where things could be discussed away from the lurkers. Now before I go any further, it was well known the Devs and DDO Community mods had spies in the Vault that reported anything that even smelled like an exploit there so nothing earth-shattering or even game-breaking was ever really discussed there.

Anyway, the silly thing is my post meant nothing for those with less than 100 posts (because they couldn't see the board) and those with 100 posts could see it and already knew about what was in it so my infracted DDO Forum post didn't tell anyone anything they didn't already know!

Either way, neither Turbine nor the game were being harmed by my post. It was just the Mods looking for anything with which they could infract me even though it was completely harmless.

The guidelines are barbaric and to be honest i'm starting to lose any respect I had for Jerry. Especially since some of his new PC guys seem to be able to break the rules without get penalized for it.

How the heck could they know if someone has multiple accounts unless that person tells them?

Unless I'm mistaken, every forums account is also a game account? So every account that posts on the forum could well be a different person playing in that house?

How do they verify that, shy of sending the Turbine police around to the address??

Maybe they like the Vault so much and want to be able to allow for freely posting elsewhere because it works so well for other games?

I don't think the day is complete without swearing at strangers. I'm hoping this creates more popcorn throwing on the T forums.

Is the "we will ban your in-game account if you have more than 1 posting account" rule a new thing? Seems kind of ridiculous to ban someone in-game for their forum behavior.

That has always been a rule. They just rarely enforced it, unless you were apart of AOK from argo, like myself. I am sure there were other exceptions, but it was more of a, WE HAVE THIS RULE SO NOW WE BAN ALL YOUR ALT ACCOUNTS BECAUSE YOU MAKE US FEEL INFERIOR AND RETARDED!  It was hardly ever enforced unless you campaigned on the forums about the next dumb thing they did.

Anyways, I don't know why people are complaining. It isn't like they are changing the moderators - who did whatever the fuck they wanted anyways. This won't change anything, I don't know why you are all freaking out over it. Shitty and petty moderators will remain shitty and petty.
