was semi interested in Simcity.... until I discovered the 'Mandatory Online' small print.

When I play fucking single player games I don't fucking want to be online.
that's also true to Civ V, where I just disable notwork before starting it. ( and the fucking vaporware that comes with it, at least it does starts, which is not the case of Empire Total War  )

Edit : I have both Dungeon Keepers original CDs tucked somewhere... I don't need an online version to be Evil  Roll Eyes

Oh, and they're doing D&D games at 80% and multiplayer games at 90% off.... That's an astute sense of timing from their sales dept Wink

Yeah, if you haven't played through Planescape Torment, it's $2 and you have no excuse.

I'd get the EE editions of BG1/BG2 though instead of the originals GOG has.

Man I don't think I've ever played any of those games except maybe NWN1 or 2.

I was about to pull the trigger & get that deal BUT you bring up a good point about the EE editions for BG1/2!

I doubt I can get that kind of a deal for them though anywhere? So now I'm stuck/torn on what 2 do..Doh! :\

The 80% deal only applies if you're buying all of them; the discount drops if you deselect any.  So they end up being, like, $0.13 if you take 'em off.  Might as well just get them all.

Ok, I'll just try & buy the EE editions when they have a deal, hopefully some time in the very near future.

Thanks! Smiley! Tongue! Cheesy!

Psst by the end of next week we might have a couple of days with plus degrees in South Western Ontario! Woohoo! :\!

BG1 EE was $5 when on Steam sale, and I would expect BG2 EE to be $10 at most the next time it goes on sale.

If BG is a "someday" play rather than a "right now" play, I'd wait for EE Steam sales since it's a polished experience updated for modern computers. You can mod classic BG1/BG2 and have a good experience, but it's more work figuring it out.

I was a console gamer for years before DDO, so I never got to play the Baldur's Gate series. I'll probably watch for the sale on Steam, then. I picked up Castlevania Lords of Shadow the other day for $7.50 on sale, it's a great game so far.

BG1 is kind of rough, but worth it if you like D&D and FR lore. I'd recommend speeding through the main plot for the most part, though Durlag's Tower is quite fun if you want a challenge before you go off to the final fight. BG2 is a much better crafted game.

Not to be repetitive, but Planescape Torment is actually the best game of that era, especially if you like lore/story.
