As far as I see the WB over Turbine business plan is fairly clear.

A. There seem to be NO money invested into marketing / increasing player base atm.

B. The options being offered in the store and via promotion seem to promote existing players getting a quick yet expensive path to reach their goals or desires.

C. Development staff has been cut.  New content seems to be just rehashing the existing content into epic levels.  Instead of new packs we are getting new "expansions" that have to be purchased with real cash.

D. Support staff is being cut.  There's not many business that expect to remain in a customer service market without, well, customer service.

The goal I see is to squeeze as much cash as possible from the remaining player base while keeping operating costs to the lowest levels this side of complete failure.  Nothing survives by feeding on itself for long.

Didn't you get the memo from hendrik and thurd? all is well FFS!!!

New Internet term from the Vault:

To MajMal.

Meaning to imply that the shitty stuff that's happening was planned a long time ago.

You have been verbed!

If I had had it I would have used it... Way faster than calling a GM.

DDO Vault, where ex-players go to discuss the good ole days.

I remember the complaints we had about Turbine 6 years ago....

/stuck would be 8 min faster?

Dude, running to Von 1 shrine room takes like 2 minutes, restart is faster than anything else.
Restart being faster than even attempting to get GM help is true for most quests if you don't play at primetime.

Except that you would end up stuck in the room again anyway if you wanted to shrine before last fight.

That's what I'm sayin'.  Stand by door, /stuck.  Go on w/ quest.  This is routine for our guild when running eVON1.

And god forbid routinely using /stuck in this quest be considered an abuse of /stuck, garnering some attention that could result in a fix.

Well Today I called a GM... Answer time 6 Minutes, Two more minutes to have the problem solved.
( Yes the problem was actually solved... but well it's the bugged shrine door in VON1, I managed to enter before killing all the trolls and was stuck inside once they were all dead... I needed a teleport out )

Remember back just a few months ago, when Turbine tried to change the rules to get people buy their heroic True Hearts of Wood?

Yes, that was Turbine begging for money, and the player response was to sit on a bridge on Wayfinder and tell Turbine: GFY, DIAF

No one should bitch about the problems they helped to cause.

And by now, it should be abundantly clear that MajMal is nothing but a Turbine corporate shill spewing the party line in every post he ever made, here and on the official forums. Why anyone ever believed anything different is hard to understand.

Family, Country, and the US stock market. Although, in a pinch, any convertible currency or liquid asset will do.

I think you should too.

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.
