Wow, I stopped by the main forums to voice my objection to Akamai, and reasonable posts were disappearing before my eyes. I don't remember it being this bad before, so it got me speculating as to why. Post your guesses, here's mine!
The moderation is heavy on the main forums because the server populations are so low even Cordovan realized they've killed DDO, and he's looking to jump ship before it sinks.
Not being able to land a job in the US with the Turdbin stain on his resume, he started looking overseas. He wants to apply for a job in China as a censor, so he's trying to get his moderations per day over 1000.
Unfortunately, after the forum downgrade he can't find 1000 offensive posts per day without slapping the wrists of his pet fanbois, so he's had to resort to deleting even reasonable posts.
Good luck, Cordovan, I hope you get that job soon!
My speculation ( yes I got several posts deleted... ) : He was in full damage control mode and just tried to keep his head out of the the water. If that meant that he had to make some collateral damages so be it.
Also, At that time Turbine was trying to flush the thing under the carpet ( they didn't have any numbers how bad it was )... Jerry was just being a good little soldier and followed orders to flush it.
If you look at Today's posts ( read what MajMal just wrote for example ), it seems that somebody at Turbine finally understood that there was a problem and that between the people that switched to Alternate Launchers and those that just stopped playing, it's going to hurt their bottom line pretty fast.
Now we just have to see if it's going to be the usual Turbine Meltdown ( go for something abusive that gets everybody irritated, to manage to sneak something ) or if they are really going to take into account what us ( the end customers ) say.
