	Depends where you are, yeah... My choices are shitty DSL or slightly less shitty cable, or really, really shitty broadband. Can't even get Rogers, and I refuse to deal with Bell ever. I do have unlimited usage, though. Almost worth the dropped connection 2-3 times per hour. Life in the sticks! At least I can get farm-fresh eggs!

Not being an ass, just letting you know. A pier is an elevated structure (usually near or over water, but necessarily so) like a jetty or boardwalk. The peer you are thinking of is peer-to-peer networking. This peer means another computer with similar software (P2P) that facilitates efficient file sharing - usually by breaking larger files up into smaller sub components and simultaneously downloading from multiple sources.

This explains my lag now Not all ISP throttle P2P in canada but many do, I know Bell canada does throttle p2p down to 30kb/s or so. Cogeco cable on the other hand doesn't at all.
