This just showed up on my Peerblock window:
"Turbine Entertainment Software - Blocked"

Coincidence with Akamai now being used?

ISP's in Canada purposely throttle usage to known peer to peer hosts. This explains my lag now

Yes we are...yes we are. Pretty much forced to use Videotron here for the internet in my town as there isn't really anything else and it's shit.

Like, 60$/month, 60gb combined upload/download limit, MASSIVE fees for overusage, shit speeds, shit service.

Depends where you are, yeah...

My choices are shitty DSL or slightly less shitty cable, or really, really shitty broadband.

Can't even get Rogers, and I refuse to deal with Bell ever.

I do have unlimited usage, though.  Almost worth the dropped connection 2-3 times per hour.

Life in the sticks!  At least I can get farm-fresh eggs!

I suspect something similar is going to happen to Australian ISPs. I heard "Pier to pier" and I wondered.

Meli - just a minor correction.  Not being an ass, just letting you know.
A pier is an elevated structure (usually near or over water, but necessarily so) like a jetty or boardwalk.

The peer you are thinking of is peer-to-peer networking. This peer means another computer with similar software (P2P) that facilitates efficient file sharing - usually by breaking larger files up into smaller sub components and simultaneously downloading from multiple sources.

Not all ISP throttle P2P in canada but many do, I know Bell canada does throttle p2p down to 30kb/s or so. Cogeco cable on the other hand doesn't at all.

Btw Bell does bloody suck arse!

lol

i am thinking of OSI drawings... and flow diagrams of layers of messages... mentally I always think of them as piers with on message going over to another over whatever interface and I hadn't realised I'd taken that over into this.

Cheesy

ah oops... no thanks... despite all of this i'm not really that dumb... really!

HAHAHAHA!

I love the reaction, man!

Also, buttholes are almost always as old as their owner. Almost always because there are rare exceptions where the butthole is newer.

Wait....

/checks forum post location which forum

You're in the vault. You're either joking or you should be grateful that the topic hasn't moved on to the circumcision methods of constipated squirrels or an equivalent topic.

"Devolve" is such a derogatory term. And who are you to judge that a thread is devolving? For all you know, the porn and sexual preferences improve the atmosphere.

Devolved is a derogatory term? I thought by vault standards it is benign?
