That material in the little blue bar at the bottom is what the item is made of. It is made of glass and happens to break crystal DR. How is that not understandable?

This is the best argument ever. I really hope it goes back and forth for some time.

It breaks crystal DR. That doesn't mean it is made of crystal. Plus I already posted that picture to show that it's made from glass.

Here's a pretty picture for you too, as well as two links.

Hell, here's a 3rd link for you too.

Nice links.  "Items made of crystal are currently listed as 'glass' in their material type field in-game."

To clarify though, I dimly remember a dev commenting that the material type was a manual description, not a generated thing, so what is says there didn't have any bearing on the actual properties of the item.  It could say glass, or crystal, or flesh, or naugahyde, and still be made out of serren.

Haven't had much luck finding that though, so I could be misremembering.  It was a few months ago at least, and had something to do with them changing properties/descriptions.  The search continues.

[Edit: Celestia maybe?  That whole thing with why it gets a green slot?]

To the guy saying that Turbine wont fix this cos noone uses Dreamspitter anymore,  of course they will.

They will spend hours on it because its a bug in our favor.

And ignore all the crap which hinders us.

Dreamspitter was so leet back in the day that it got nerfed specifically.  Not that the weapon changed but the auto crit of a held mob was changed to 1.5 damage.

As mentioned it is Crystal damage type but made of glass.

Mine has been collecting dust for years. Cry

I have a fully upgraded one, it still takes damage, not much though.

Nah if its a bug it wont be fixed it, they will attempt to fix it..........and just lead to it being broken and it taking so much damage its next to useless.

Like all other quarterstaffs in the game. Good luck not breaking a quarterstaff in the new wilderness area before reaching the staircase or closed door.

Great, now the devs will make them break after 30 punches.
