Damn it! I was looking forward to this.
I played the original quite a bit. It was awesome.
THEN, I learned people LARPed with it.
I actually did the LARP version twice. It was a low-point in my life. It was ridiculous.
The actual game was amazeballs.
And Arkat, for every ONE Toreador, there was a Brujah, a Gangrel, a Malkavian, a Ventrue, a Tremere, and an Assamite. the awesome FAR FAR outweighed the Twitardness.
That whole world has a BUTT TON of potential. The flavor is captured decently in the original Underworld movie. But, in WoD, the Werewolves are about twice as badass as that movie. Maybe three times. In fact, Werewolf the Apocalypse is has the coolest lycanthrope concept I've ever seen. I compare all others to it, and they tend to fall short. Don't even get me started about the Umbra that the werewolves can "sidestep" into.
Then there was "Mage" the Ascension which was awesome for magic users. That was effin' awesome! You had to plan your magic to be as close to a "coincidence" of reality as possible or else reality would backlack on you in the form of "paradox" and take the violation out on you physically. You COULD just throw a fireball at someone and burn them to death. But you should expect paradox to come back at you with a 105 degree life-threatening fever where you would have to be rushed to a hospital, etc. If you wanted to throw a fireball at someone, you lit and threw a molotov cocktail, and then "enhanced" the effect to make it look realistic. That way, maybe the worst of your paradox was that your watch ran backward for a few hours.
Those games were amazeballs.
Then there was Changling... which was weird as hell... But, Faeries... so... yeah.
Then there was Wraith the Oblivion... Ghosts...I didn't get that one.
