The more likely probability is that someone reported you while duping.  I see heaps of people who don't realise the sounds and actions you produce from repeated actions.

Although things may have changed recently, where a few peeps have been nailed quietly duping on private guild ship, so they may have some way of monitoring some things.

I suppose.  I was standing next to ten or fifteen other people near the bank at the time.  of course I usually log off at the bank or walk off for a break with my toon at the banker.

If that's the case I'm going to go bang my head for not doing it on the ship instead.  fucking 4 week ban.

One of my guildies spent about 6 hours one night duping on our ship.  He was very active on guild chat asking for items he needed to dupe.  He got a couple of dragon scales off me and the next day he repaid the loan with about 1 million percent interest.  He never got caught, and he was giving away all kinds of stuff.

I didnt know you were in my guild...lol.. but really it sounds like me for sure...haha.. i wouldnt hide shit. Just dont make things known to haters. And you should be fine

How do you guys do it? Unbound stuff is obviously easy and safe to make a alt account, but having 500 sovereign pots, and some other goodies laying around my toons leaves me a bit nervous. If someone decides to take a peek at my account.

I'm constantly TRing, my trick is to try and keep most of it on TR cache. What other tricks is there?

They figured out TR cache during dupeapoolza 1, but I wouldn't be surprised if they still can't query it from a script and only GMs manually pawing through it can find anything.

Split items up in innocuous-looking stacks on across as many characters as possible. Put them next to piles of similar looking items so they're more easily missed if a GM is scanning through.

I thought they fixed the bug where you could put bound stuff in guild chests but have heard rumors that there are still ways.

If you trust your guild, and you know a way (I don't, unless it was the old method brought back) then you could dare the GMs to start a shitstorm by digging through the guild chest and removing items...

Or just dupe so much shit, as in everything you have, on like 12 toons.. and they will give up after a while. Shit... i have a hard enough time looking through all my toon trying to find something. Let alone be able to know what and how much is duped on each toon.. if i was working there and it was my job to go through my acct.. after spending like 2hrs going through maybe 2-3 toons id just said fuck it, and just move on to the next acct..haha...

Here is what they did to me for duppapaloza:
logged on each of my characters in turn, took every bad and destroyed it.  then recreated the bag.

Took some other stuff that wasn't dupable and was store bought and destroyed that stuff anyway - I had some shears for instance.

They logged in on all 22 of my toons on my main server (didn't check other servers b/c who cares?) and they manually reduced every stack size to 3.  but then the guy doing it seemed to get bored since he missed a couple bags and in one ingredient bag reduced the stack size to 3 for half the bag and left the other half alone.

Well they must run some search script since I got nailed in that last dupeapalooza sweep and nobody but nobody knew I was doing it and I think I spent a grand total of 2 hours duping stuff.

And no I didn't post anything on the AH/ASAH before I was caught either.

Here is a question for people that think they know.  If an item is sold to a vendor and then bought back is it "new"?  Or does it retain the properties it had (serial number etc.) when it was sold?  I am also curious about item thrown away that get mailed back.  This may be a way to hide/regen duped items.

I would assume it's the same item, because it'd be cheaper to store the item reference than store all the properties of the item to recreate it when you destroy/sell then buy back.

However, logic doesn't seem to apply to DDO's code/database so it's just a (probably bad) guess. Smiley

Sell to the vendor in Ataraxia, if you're this paranoid; it can't hurt to add that extra layer of tinfoil.

Edit: added a semi-colon, because I had the run-ons.
