Ok here's the said trick.I had a friend from G-land verify it still works for me.
How to make epic tokens of the 12.
Requirements : you need 1099 fragments to start with, but i think that even with 199 u can do it, just never bothered to verify it.
So you go at the 12 , before the epic altar.
Click altar to use.
Insert 1st, one stack of 99 fragments.
Insert 2nd, next to 1st, a stack of more than 100 fragments, in my case i placed a stack of 1000.
Click to use altar.
You will get 2 messages. Due to the 1st stack been less than 100, you'll have a failure. Due to the 2nd been above 100, you'll have crafted a token.
Needless to say, you do not consume any fragments. So keep clicking until you have enough for your tr's/augments/ collection.
P.S. Yes it is old, fuck off!
Tested on Lama, this is going away. In fact, if you put the larger stack in first, it will consume the fragments and you get nothing in return.
