From this thread
https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/441950-****-BREAKING-NEWS-******-From-...)

Seems like adrenaline doesnt work at all anymore with bows.

In all honesty, with the retarded gaziolion hp inflated  red named hp pools we have, it makes no sense to kill monkchers.
No, i dont play one, but killing something that was a valuable tool due to retarded game desing makes no sense whatsover.
What are they gonna nerf next?
Shurikens or mortal fear? Sigh, turbine fails yet again.
They could had just toned down all 4 arrows procing adrenaline or slaying shot, not totaly kill archers in game

So Blitzing and Divine Crusader it is then.  Que Sera.

Edit:  It is sort of silly to nerf it though, not because it shouldn't be, bu because that destiny is pretty awful for anything else.

And with this nerf they didn't nerf just the Monkchers, but Ranged combat in general.

I believe the word "sledge hammer" is in there somewhere.

Yes, fury artie was nice dps, not as good as monkchers but it made having a artie in group tolerable.
Now i dont know, will only make me let less people in groups then usual, aka all non shuriken ranged

I may be wrong, but I think star chuckers come out on top due to throwing multiple stars.

Well that's dumb ... raging out and throwing something is for more believable than the ability to accurately shoot a bow while going berserk.

Breaking news from Teh Troll, very reliable source. I've been told it's just bugged and all ranged attacks just don't do anything when you try to attack.

Yeah especially given the fact that shuriken are naturally a strength damage mod weapon.

I do t think turbine should have done it. This isnt the way to fix the problem. They should have just made adren only proc on first arrow of a many shot. Nothing about monkchers was OP outside of an adrenaline slayer during manyshot. This is a massive nerf, and its far more severe than was necessary for the problem.

I hope maj is reading this.

If he does I'm sure rest will be the excuse to stop again....

I have agreed to not flame until post U22 though so I'll stop there.

Adrenaline needn't be restricted to the first arrow. That seemed fairly accurate to me (4 arrows on a string all getting the same benefit). It's when melee only get the first hit of a cleave/great cleave is used as a counter argument I see the point. In which case I say let it last through the cleave as that would be consistent.

Also, the decoupling of adrenaline and slayer arrows would mitigate most of the abusive numbers people cry about.

I expect shuriken to be the next target though if this nerf goes through btw. Having seen a person crit 12k on a shuri (and frequently crited 7k myself) coupled with the range and the firing rate. Might take 2 more years but it's coming.

Every update there are doom threads about monkcher nerfs and they always come back stronger than before. We'll see but I'm not worried at all. Every one seams to be playing a monkcher these days. I don't think they would want to piss off so many people.

I have to agree with you on this, but Turbine have shown they have a tin ear to feed back.  Look at recent examples:  QP.  COV's.  Swashbuckler etc etc..

Turdbine have demonstrated the innate organisational ability to continuously shoot themselves in the foot.

By any measure, monkchers were overpowered and likely an unintended combination of abilities to give extraordinary burst damage.  Some of the suggested fixes above are quite sensible, but why do that when you can throw away the nerf bat and use a sledgehammer.

Rather than quickly fix the issue, they left it in circulation for years and slowly increased all the mob/boss damage to account for this burst damage (whether you have it or not).  A poor solution no doubt.

So now that someone is coming in and grabbing the bull by the horns and fixing these anomalies, what will happen to said mob/boss HP inflation?
Nada.  We'll be left with less options for burst damage, and still have to grind through the ridiculous meat sacks.

I don't mind them fixing unintended consequences, but it needs to happen before 80% of your players build around it and you design the game around it.

MajMal will be on to make some pithy comment about the risks of using "FOTM" builds, neglecting to acknowledge that players have worked within the rules provided and that it is Turdbine who have stuffed up, and now risk alienating many players.

If this is true, it will be a very disappointing way to handle it.

Not that I care about monkchers,  but I feel sorry for those who do. As usual,  turbine is using a sledgehammer.

Lets see if it was player skill that allowed monchkers to solo EE raids or if its just op build that carried them.

Monkcher was a very powerful platform. But really they were only absurd Fury. Out of fury they are just sort of whatever.

The problem is, how do you make a ranged character useful now? Ranged, not thrown. Repeaters still belong in shiradi or sd. I guess Divine Crusader is ok too.

And as i said, there will be no adrenaline recharges on thrown either if things remain as they are on lama.

Turbine doesn't like people soloing raids.  It really doesn't help when people post videos of it.

I think you should try monkcher out of fury.  Wink
