experience macroing

last days I've been macroing epic experience on crucible with one toon A, now toon B has hit 20 and while he could macro heroic xp on crucible without optionals ransack on epic it's getting optional ransack, so it does 1k xp per minute instead of 3.5k

anyone knows what exactly is needed to avoid the optionals ransack?

I have done 2m xp in 8 hours while sleeping with crucible optionals, so no, 18 hours are not needed

Some of my toons get ransacked and some don't.  Haven't been able to pin it down yet either.  VIP/Premium makes no difference.
Make sure they have the quest and don't red box it seems to help.

My experience macroing that quest has been odd, lag makes movement imprecise.  Moving some runs I hit all the optionals perfectly, some I only hit the first with the same macro, yay lag.

as soon as you hit 26, you can set it to run till 28 (about 2.5m xp) and go to sleep.

yes epic, in heroic it's like 1k xp per minute ( atleast with my macro and hitting only 2 optionals ), but that depends on being vip or not etc

I use autohotkey, though it's more an scripting tool than it's a macro recorder/player

I can't get this to work at all (same result with several different macro recorders), I'm not sure if it is lag or what, but what I record is subtly different from what happens on playback.

Maybe the lag feature is to discourage this sort of thing  Tongue

Lag is DEFINITELY a concern for this.  After recording and then fine tuning you can get in my experience about a 40% fidelity, so the changes of the whole run going exactly right are fairly low.  And with crucible specifically when it breaks outside and you miss the entrance you are probably going to run around until you die and end up released running around somewhere public looking like an idiot.

Hahaha, yea. You just need to find ways to prevent that from happening.

I have almost no lag problem, can run macro for like 12 hours without problem most of the time, sometimes only for 1 hour and lag makes it fail, I could finetune the macro for that, but it doesn't happen much and I'm too lazy for it

the critical part is to know when exactly the toon has entered the quest and when has left, for that I've found best option is to capture the game screen and then do either an OCR for the word "the crucible" or "gianthold" or look for an exact image

if you are trying to use image identification with any type of macro scripter or macro recorder, disable metro or the program will only get black screens on fullscreen setting

I believe you have to run it on epic normal, wait for the reset, and then you're good to go.

this is the macro I use with autohotkey

I use it inside a virtual box, so I can do other things on computer while macro runs

G and H are used for strafe and Z for attack, autotarget must be on

does trubine have a problem with players running macros?  this sounds pretty tempting.

They have problems with players running unattended macros.  You can macro to your hearts content if you're at the computer.

Big Big lawsuit ages ago with Sony over banning a handicapped person running macros have basically set an industry standard that macros are allowed if you are at the keyboard.

I suggest adding a line of code that txts you, calls you, or makes the computer do a LOUD sound if you happen to not be at the keyboard and you receive a tell. I use to packet sniff on EQ to sound an alarm if a gm ever entered my zone also (no clue how to do stuff like that in DDO).

At least that is what I use to do in other games. I haven't cared enough to hardcore macro with DDO yet. In general I just enjoy playing it or choose not to play it.
