Character Copies & Transfers

You have to be logged in to use the function (which is currently disabled for transfers) and it works even if you're forum banned. You can log in to the ddo.com site and use the dropdowns. It looks like the Lamannia character copy is functional, but I haven't downloaded the Lamannia client (and it's closed anyway, innit?) to be able to check.

A bunch of my toons are old versions (my druid still showing as level 20, even though he has been 28 for months) so we'll have to see what happens.

Nicely done, Turbine! Please keep this up!

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

The copy function and free renaming token looks interesting.
I wonder what crazy pricing this will be?

Well, if you click on Copy, the Transfer UI becomes available for all the other characters in the server, would be pretty funny if you could do a free transfer right now. I've been trying to break a few of my dummy toons but nothing seems to happen yet.

The Lamannia character copy is semi-functional.
The copy can fail for a lot of reasons... ( I've spent some time yesterday exploring the failing cases )

And yes it's the thing MajMal hinted : Transfer and Copy. But there's a lot of bugs to nail down.
( for example if you copy a char that has already been copied it will fail, despite the message that says that the second character will be renamed. There's characters that are not appearing in the list. ...  )

Lamannia being down/closed makes it impossible to check if the complete status is right or not.

Nope, the tool is buggy as hell, and Turbine has no idea what would happen ( fuck up the character, do nothing, duplicate the character, fuck up the whole database... ).

It's not just Cordovan... The system guys ( the DBA ) must be running like headless chickens at the idea of all the could be happening.
