Er...  Carl Sagan's lesser-known sister, closet lesbian and pioneer of feminist astrophysics.  Due to a lapse of judgement by her more-famous brother, the symbolic coded message carried into space by the Pioneer craft was composed by Carol and actually reads "A woman needs a man like a hyperfine structure description needs an asymmetric matrix", generally agreed to be least-catchy feminist slogan in existence.

Similarly, the Arecibo message was originally only two-and-a-half-minutes long, but was mysteriously amended just before transmission.  The final 30 seconds read: "A female intelligent entity seeking to be equal to male intelligent entities lacks ambition."
