Clearly the solution to low player pop is to post threads on the forums to make players less interested in the game. You guys are fucking brilliant.
The game is more fun when there are more participants.
Players who like the game would like to see more people playing, because more fun.
Turbine has taught the players that it does not respond to carefully crafted, coherent, and well supported suggestions for corrective action.
The intent of the posts isn't to make players less interested, it is to make Turbine do something, because

Remember how loud the forum outrage became regarding the changes to pricing of heroic hearts and how muted was Glin's response?
I'm sure the reason the Oracle is able to collect and report objective metrics is because Turbine cannot remember how to turn off the publicly facing API, and researching how to do it is more effort than shining the chairs in the half-full conference rooms, telling each other that everything is going exactly as planned.
