Jerry spoke on the topic of his skill as a player not too long ago:

It's not as easy as you think to run a quest while livestreaming, keeping an eye on chat, and talking about whatever subject is being discussed. In particular, it's important to remember that the character I used this past week had been largely parked since November of 2010, with the occasional "bring out of retirement" to mostly check something out on the live servers (enhancement overhaul, gear change, etc.) Or maybe a nekkid TS run. Or the occasional run with close friends. And the once or twice a year random PUG or whatever (I last ran ToD on him, based on the state of my gear during Wednesday's stream.) I had on the Boots of Anchoring, and it was interfering with my ability to caste Haste on myself, until I figured out I had the boots on. Also, I have no Jump. I had 86 Jump pots, but didn't see it in my wall of hotbars immediately.
I play often enough to not consider myself rusty. If that means someone's going to think I'm simply bad; well, whatever.
I will concede that it isn't easy to split attention between the game and external tasks, but that doesn't address the sloppy state of the characters he uses for these events.
He may or may not be a bad player, but it's clear that he can't be bothered to put 30 minutes into preparing his characters for the stream events, and that's inexcusable.
This kind of dismissive attitude toward representing the product is harmful.
