Thanks for the re-post Tractors.  Don't follow the main forums any more, so did not see this.   Smiley

Not commenting on the specific changes, but the fact that they have listened is a positive.  Wow.
We asked for something to be done, and they have done something.  Anything that makes more builds effective is a plus for the game, as it adds diversity.

Now time and feedback will hopefully refine this - but at the end of the day, we will never all agree - especially if the changes are a nerf to chars we play.

Who is Sev?  I've not heard of that dev on DDO before?  He certainly writes well and explains his thoughts coherently.  Nice job.

you are misinterpreting

Divine Grace is now
limited to
2 + (3 x Paladin Level)
for the total Charisma bonuses it will add
to saving throws.

How am I misinterpreting?  2+(3x pally level)
If the pally is 20th level, 2+(3x20)= 62

You would still need the CHA to fill it like you do now.

You COULD get a possible 62 to your saves but that is a cha score well over 100.

Edit: would need 134 CHA

I think what they mean is you will need +20 cha mod to get 2+(3x20) to saves as lvl 20 paladin, if you take 3 lvls of paladin, but have +2 cha mod, you will get 2+(3x2).
YOu still need cha to get saves, but it is limited to paladin lvl.
If you have +1 cha mod, 3 paladin lvls it will be 2+(3x1).

Is this an alt account for some other dev or was he promoted?

Evasion characters in the party should be able to get the aggro of spell casters and survive while tanks should concentrate on going toe-to-toe with the fighters.

Each type of character can have its own role and everything will be easier to balance in the long run.

Hi there, Axer clone.

Clerics should not have offensive spells memorized. They are only supposed to heal.

Wizards should not spend their spell points on anything but buffs for the group.

Anyone who doesn't follow these rules should be reported and banned from the game.

Palladin splash: Nerf
Non-splash Palladin: Meh
Net: Increased lesser heart sales from Bladeforged trying to get rid of 1 Palladin level instead of adding 1 for the splash

i.e. make the class so bad that we'll pay to get rid of any trace of it.  Genius!!!

This is so fucking wrong it makes the retards on the live boards who cant figure out how the fuck Max Dex Bonus and Dodge Cap work seem like fucking Michael Faradays.

How fucking hard is it to read the equation?
Your bonus is LIMITED TO 2+(3xPal levels).  Not whatever bamboo madness you posted.

That means if you are a Level 2 paladin with a 40 charisma(+15 bonus)  You would get at max 8  (2+3x2)...if you were a level 5 paladin your maximum bonus would be 2+3x5 = 17...Which means you'd get the full bonus.

As someone else pointed out to have problems with max Cap you'd need a fucking 134 Charisma before it stopped mattering....If paladins could get 134 charisma by being level 20 you'd fucking see more of them as that is a hell of a Divine Might bonus.

Pal basically needs a damage pre. One that is more versatile than Demons and Undead...

If they came out as 85% self sufficient with some DPS people would play them.

Isnt 2h more a direction for Pal anyway ? When i think of Divine Avenger(the iconic pal sword?) i think of a massive 2h sword flaming with holy righteousness.... I really don't think of a sword and board.

~ We plan to introduce two new trees for shield use. The Vanguard tree will be focused on DPS while using a weapon and shield. This DPS will come from a combination of weapon damage and shield bashes. The Shieldbearer tree will be a mitigation tree that will focus on heavy armor and shield. This will also offer ways to counter enemies with active mitigation such as stuns, knock downs, and the like. These trees would be available to Fighter, Paladin and perhaps even a new class that supported heavy armor and martial abilities.

As for the THF & soon to be SHF yea you could just do a kensai 12/8 pali or something as such.

PC people, don't fuck this up.

So I'm not sure if I am reading his clarification of the dodge cap thing correctly. I spent a bunch of enhancement points and am wearing a shitty belt (EE daggertooth) just so I can hit a 14% dodge cap in heavy armour. If it maxes out at 5% that's a kick in the dick for sure.

This new guy.. he is great at NOT being clear when he "clarifies" something. And also great at avoiding answering the tougher questions, even when they're presented in an eloquent (if caustic) manner.

Your dodge would go from starting at 2% in heavy to starting at 5%

I noticed both of those too, it's not helping my doubts for these changes.

Well it turns out that my most recent guy, heavy armour eSOS, will benefit from these idea. Since he has 4 pally levels, that equates to +14 CHA from saves.  I've pumped him up to 36 CHA, bringing me in right under at +13 CHA mod. Looks like a net win for that one specific character. He was more flavour than anything, but he is decently effective. Obviously not great in EEs because of the high damage (hadn't figured out how to fit in elemental absorption yet) but this change could make it work.

But I knew from jump street he was flavour, not badass.

But I will reiterate:

WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE NEW FUCKING SYSTEMS!! WE HAVE ENOUGH! ALL THE NEW SYSTEMS YOU BRING OUT ARE BROKEN FROM THE START. AND IF THEY ARE EVER FIXED (which is not the usual course) THEY ARE ABANDONED HALFWAY THROUGH FOR THE NEXT SHINY THING!! FUCKING STOP IT!
