You realize that some people consider the grind an accomplishment... Right?
Granted.. Those are the same people who condem the use of harvestmachines in favor of their trusty schyte..

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

People who don't know how to fix their own mistakes cleanly

Its kind of a good thing there ARE people who dont know or do know and dont use them Tongue the smaller the "sploiter" community, the less pressure there is to fix it.

If everybody could just walk into the auction house and buy 10 Thunder-Forged Dwarven Ingots, and then walk out of thunderforged 10 minutes later with a full arsenal for the next 3 lives of tier 2 thunder-forged weapons without ever having done the raid or played any of the content, well... that might just be some impetus for turbine to actually solve the problem.

Ya know. Just maybe.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

Yea, I'm torn about telling them when I hear them talking about needing. I settle for just passing them anything in the chest if they mention it, bc "I already have all I need for my lives."

I usually feel a little awkward when I down pots constantly and run by shrines.  Maybe I should be a little more cautious...

Shrines are still good for action boosts! Oh wait, pots = casters. Although the sov healing pots are probably a sweet alternative to SF pots for melee, without the debuff. Not sure though, haven't played my melee in 6+ months... lol /  Sad .

But yea, I know I'm spoiled bc I'll drink a pot in Cannith Crystal on a lvl 1-3 toon. A Concentrated Superior Mnemonic to be specific. Yea, def spoiled.  Cheesy

It's interesting.
If you're new, then I think avoiding exploiting is best because it ultimately destroys the fun.
Once you have everything and can crush everything, most of the psychological hooks no longer apply and you will get bored and likely leave.

If you overdo it, you will shorten your time in the game.  But I fully agree that helping bypass some tedious farming is useful and the way I enjoy it.  Some farming I still enjoy and do, but some of it is like pulling teeth.

I help my guildies out in a little ways too, without attracting suspicion or spoiling their enjoyment.
I agree that it's nice to be able to do that.   Smiley

Yea, helping without spoiling things for others is good.

But seriously? You can't REALLY say that giving someone access to something that stops them from sinking months or years into a medium-notch quality game that is in truth a waste of their life is a bad thing. Not _really_.

I believe the contrary to be true sorry.
Even the smallest things can be fun when it is new.

But once you become jaded and bored, then exploiting just brings a new lease on life for DDO.

Farming and grind is never fun, but all MMO's have it and need the mechanism.  Bypass it at your own risk.

Player skill trumps duping all day long.  Now if only I could dupe some player skill, I'd be in business.

I think DDO starts you off too weak. It takes loneliness or OCD to keep playing unless you've got a hook up with some gear. Once you get up and running though, too much gear will jade you. Only then is it a good idea to hold off on dupping and such.

Why do you say this Revaulting?
I find the early levels to be the most fun sometimes.
The content is nicely balanced for any class to get through, and as your skill improves, you can just move from Normal to Elite difficulty?

It's the later levels where you get character power, but by then the devs have run out of ideas to challenge us, and hence the big of HP and artificial constraints that are applied to try to make it challenging again.
Invariably it just becomes boring.

Yeah, I like to keep a couple of things to work toward.
The drop rate of the old lvl 20 epic items is just stupid.  Most are useless now, but those that are good should drop more frequently.

I have most of what I need now, so I just potter around with deathwyrm and fire peak helping guildies, and HH to get some item drops that I can sell.

The early levels are better balanced for a TR than for a beginner. I have more fun as a TR than I ever had starting out.

Yeah starting a brand new toon for permadeath, with no twinking made clear to me how much easier it was with TR's.

Still really fun, haven't gotten one past 8th yet though.
