Hi, since I have been banned on mother forums I'd really like the help of you guys to help me if you can with installing this shortcut launcher for ddo

The problem I am experiencing is I keep getting this error:

Can't open file 'client_gamelogic.dat'

And what I did was download the preloader to my desktop, un-zipped it extracted the files to my desktop again.

Then I dragged the entire new extracted file into programs files (x86) -> Turbine -> DDO unlimited  and that didn't work so I tried the other folder Dungeons & Dragons Online and that didn't work either.

I'm not a very tech savvy person, if you could help me out that would be great!

on post 115-116 it slightly mentions the problem i am inccuring I just dont get what he means do I have it in the right directory?

because client_gamelogic.dat is in my Dungeons & Dragons Online folder so I should be unzipping the preloader and putting it in that folder then right?

but its not working :/ ?

1. Find this "Client_gamelogic.dat" in your ddo folder.
2. Right click to access it's properties.
3. Select tab "previous versions".
hopefully you will have 2-3 previous versions in there the game backed up. Choose anything up to the 14th, anything before simply means you might have to update it a little bit longer, but they are still good (even if they are a week/month older).
4. Copy the chosen previous version to a temporary folder on your desktop. Close the Client_gamelogic.dat properties window.
5. Rename the Client_gamelogic.dat into something similar, the member suggested Client_gamelogic.dat_OLD.
6. Copy the previous version back into the folder from the desktop.
7. Now you should have an uncorrupted Client_gamelogic.dat which will be updated by the launcher.
8. Start the launcher, it will go on and update the data file (you will see it later in the folder with an added 120mb more or less)
9. if you can get into the game and everything works, you can delete the Client_gamelogic.dat_OLD you renamed, it is now junk. if you look at your new Client_gamelogic.dat you will see it has been updated and also has the previous versions moved to it's properties.


Try this for ddo.

First try running it as administrator if you didnt already.
You can try reinstall, but install it on other hard drive if you installed it now where your OS is.



See the windows icon, thats where your OS is.

Since the SSD i stopped using preload, think i still got it lying around though. ~looks for it~

Edit: There it is. alright, what you wanna do, is in the DDO preloader folder, find the file marked "ddopreload.exe", In a new window, find your DDO directory, should be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Turbine\DDO Unlimited unless your running 32 bit, then its just in C:\Program Files\Turbine\DDO Unlimited,.

Drag and drop "ddopreload.exe" into the "DDO Unlimited" folder. Be sure not to drop it into one of the folders within "DDO Unlimited".

You mention putting it in the "Dungeons and Dragons Online" folder, that is not the root directory. Thats just where some of your user files are stored.

Next, once you have placed "ddopreload.exe" into the DDO Unlimited folder, Right click the .exe file and select "Send To." this will bring up a new list, select the option for "Desktop Shortcut". Now, instead of using the DDO launcher to play, Use the newly placed shortcut of DDOPreload

DId you change install path to something other than default?. If so, find the folder that contains something like this:



and put the ddopreloader.exe in that folder., then follow the same steps for creating a shortcut (replacing the one thats there if you followed the first set of instructions"


Also, not sure what your using for an Image host. But they arnt loading for me. Try using http://prntscr.com/

Upon looking at the images, i notice you have the correct folder, however you do NOT have a complete install in that folder. Instead install to the Dungeons and Dragons Online folder. (not sure why your Unlimted is a partial install, no matter.)

How it didnt work first time?
Did you put it in turbine folder next to ddo and not in ddo folder?
