U23 chatter about necro4 flagging

Posts at the mother forums about changing the current heroic Abbot raid flagging and making sure epic Vol raid has a straightforward (easy?) flagging

Thoughts?

I can understand the frustration at random Sigil drops, but it's currently not that difficult to farm the pieces while doing the normal leveling or going back at a higher level. Yes, will require some repetition (work?) but it is flagging for a raid. Should raid flagging be easy on a silver platter?

Besides the Sigil farm, also posts about the 4 times boss beating. Yes it can get redundant doing front half of litany 4 times, so maybe a door or way to continue on to the next bosses after shattering the crystals in the tower?
Complaints about lack of group, but these can be ran at casual.

About people stating they've been playing for 5+ years and never setting foot into the raid. I don't have the best player skills or have a lot of time to put into DDO. However, I specifically set playing sessions to accomplish goals. It may take some time, but should be doable.

Should every aspect of the game be easily open to all, or should some features require an extra bit of time or skill?

I don't think that every aspect of the game should be beatable by all, but I do think that every aspect of the game should be *available* to all (as long as they pay for it).

Shroud flagging - good
Abbot flagging - sad panda

I'm ok with it requiring that many pieces but the drop rate on a few needs to be increased.  I think it took me 3 lives to finally get all the pieces and by then I was already in the habit of skipping it and still haven't run it.  I soloed Litany a few times but got really bored with answering the dragon and gave up about half way through flagging. Abbot is still one of 3 heroic raids I've never played.  Its pugged some but not frequently.  Considering the dwindling player base, it probably would be a good idea to make it a little easier to flag for it - especially considering how many newer players don't bother TRing and just go straight into epic.  With the epic Orchard coming soon, you're going to find many first timers trying to run it on EE.

I wouldn't say it should be handed over on a silver platter, but the drop rates should be increased and something should be done about having to answer a million questions for that damned dragon.  That's my take at least.

I feel that they should get rid of flagging for raids entirely. If the quests are good enough on their own to be run for xp/lsagas/fun then they will get played. If tying them to a raid is incentive than what occurs when people get the items, or the items become obsolete? Look at LoB/MA.

Shroud flagging is just hard enough - and takes long enough - to be worth it.  Having to run flagging quests multiple times for the sigil is ridiculous.  One run thru should be enough.

too late to chat about it, it's on Lammania...

And already dealt with :
- Heroic Stay as is, with it's pain in the ass flagging.
- Epic is just straightforward flagging : run the 4 flagging quests once and you're flagged.

So they are encouraging people to step into the raid for the first time on Epic, instead of Heroic.

So... it shouldn't be "flagging." It should just be, "sign up for the raid and win."

Sheesh. Whiners nowadays. If this pay to win thing catches on, there might not be any more staying power in games.

Hey! I run LoB/MA!

And, if I get around to it, I'd flag to run CITW.

Well as I've told several time already, the current crop of devs are not keen ( and/ore interested ) in looking at the code from previous teams.
So they just let it rot as is and move around. Maybe they fear that making changes to the flagging mechanism of H-Abbot will just break
Deathwyrm Portals.

Or screw up the shield/tap/tome turn-ins? Yes, they certainly are smart not to look at that....

Very few people do run MA/LoB and it is rarely up or filled on lfms on orien at least. As for CitW, Wouldnt it be better if you could simply walk into the raid without flagging?

Me too, though I know that it's not the same raid...
It's like Fall of Truth and Reaver's Fate. Both raids starts at the same entrance... but they are not the same.

Lol. Again, I wouldn't know. I'm almost always running solo, and always trying to make do with gimp builds....

Not to mention that I can't play worth a damn.

As says as it is I feel like that's a good decision. Don't mess with what's working.

No, in my case lazyness...

I couldn't be arsed to waste hours in the various Orchard quests ( I don't really like the area and the quests ) to get the sigil pieces.

And there was other fun and easy to flag raids available at that time : Velah, Titan, Piker's Fate,

Out of my 10 active toons, I think 2 are actually flagged for abbot, with a couple of other Tred toons flagged through to Litany, because XP. Just don't see the point really. At least if I just need to run the four quests it will incentivise me to actually take a look at the raid Smiley

They should increase the drop rate for named items on heroic to encourage it being ran at heroic otherwise I can't see running it much myself on heroic either. I TR to fast to run it usually by the time I get the pieces. I have 4 complete sets in the bank but I am to lazy to burn them in on most life's unless I am farming it at or before 28.
