XP stone issues

I have had two failures with the xp stones today. I have been using the same ones though around 20 lives already (not really sure the exact number) and for some reason they started failing today.
I am wondering if this could be due to server lag as I was using them at a time of day that I normally don't. Usually I don't have too much lag going on but today it seems a bit more than usual.
This isn't a troll thread either and I am asking legitimately because I haven't had a failure for several months. Thanks for any input.

I believe the general server lag does raise the risk, so I have stopped using my stones.
I have a constant background packet loss of 5-10%, which could be enough to interfere with the process.
Take a break from the process until they reboot the servers.   Wink

Thanks Not_DropBear. I thought it may have been server lag related.

I started seeing DD stones fail to return, when they normally don't.
I decided it wasn't worth risking the others.
No way to prove it of course, but I would hold off for now.

Sure, what they said. I'm going to stick with DIAF, though. Theirs might seem helpful at first, but mine is the only suggestion that works for the long-term.

Being paranoid, I do a couple of low value DD's too.
But you have to be careful - doing these introduces some reported latency and loss for a bit, so you need to let your connection stabilize afterwards.

Little tip, if you see something interesting posted grab a screen shot or quote, because it often will be edited out.

Yeah, testing with DD stones first always increases the lag. I have lost at least two Big ones because of that. It's safer to wait a few minutes for network to stabilize.

I personally only do it upon first logging in. I will restart DDO if need be.

I also wait for the bank and TR cache to fully load.
