I almost missed this:

Crystal Cove will return this week! Pirates and a new tier of loot - in time for Halloween! Starts Thursday, runs through November 2nd! #DDO

Who else is not the slightest excited about Cove?

P.S. Oh, poop. I forgot I'm supposed to be a Turbine cheerleader. Go go Turbine!

If they wanted to do this right and actually make it interesting, then they should have lvl 24 & 28 items.  Nothing uber powerful, just something useful.
But not sure how much room they have left for themselves between the 20 & 28 versions - most already have skills at +20?

And if they really wanted to give peeps a reason to run, give them a sneak peak at a few lvl 30 items they can eventually craft when the level cap goes up.  If you're plotting an upgrade trajectory for items from lvl 20 - 30, you kinda have to decide what the lvl 30 version looks like to balance the others, so sneak previews can't be that hard for existing items?

Instead they churn out a tired old event with half-arsed improvements which will likely be bugged from day 1.  Or they'll forget to put the collectibles/mats in the drop rates or some other SNAFU.

Then before you know it, we'll have the Ice games again with the same old redundant shit foisted on us with zero effort put into making the event relevant.  Yay......

Undecided

Finally I can use up all my duped farmed mats.

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

Wow.

Have you EVER gone to Law School Feyn? Have you EVER been asked by a United States Senator who is now the Vice President of the United States to write a paper just for him on a particular topic of Constitutional Law for his use as a Senator? Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? Have you ever been offered a job as a Deputy Attorney General BEFORE you even graduated Law School?

No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.

I havn't done the Cove in a while.  I actually wouldn't mind upgrading some Spyglasses and my Glasscannon and enjoy the Cove (cursing the kobolds the whole time).

I probably need a shit ton of mats to upgrade what I want but whatever.  Just my opinion but duping is total fucking weaksauce bullshit but /shrug y'all have your fun.

I mean truthfully I *did* trade in about a million plat worth of Dowsing Rods in the first Cove go around but started to feel like a limp dick putz after the first couple trips with overfilled bags to the bar so went back to actually playing the game LMAO.

Isn't this like the third time they've given us CC this year?

In the time you will take searching for the correct mule, just dupe some new Wink
Also, a very interesting and easy way to have ur mules under control is to SS their inventory and have them in a folder on ur pc, like DDO : Xweapon mule : SS1-2-3-4-5, Xitemmule : SS1-2-3-4-5-6-7 etc. Easy + fast access. Wink

Man it would suck to have Turbine as your parents.  'Sorry kids, we're too stupid to get a ladder into the attic to get the halloween decorations, so we're celebrating the 4th of July again.  Incidentally, Christmas will be cancelled as well for the  same reason.'

Eat a dick turbine.

Asside from the +3 INT on the SpyGlass there is nothing to see here.  Pun intended.

Nothing to see here, except the +3 int on the spyglass. Oh wait, someone already said that. Let me rephraze it: nothing to see here, what you already have at level 20 tier 3 is better than the 24 tier 3 version because you use it immidiatelly on etr.

In hindsight, I need two more hats and an eternal potion so I'm gonna run it. And cause kobolds hate you.

I have 37 characters, like 25 of them are mules.  I'd have issues with keeping up with the screenshots.

I stopped at 37 because of reasons.

This is a very poor replacement for Mabar. I honestly don't understand how a company can have such contempt for their user base and still be in business.

There's something in BDSM called Financial Domination or Money Slavery; in it's less extreme forms the sub pays tribute with expensive gifts and gifts of cash.  It seems to be a profitable niche market for some women.

So we may simply be masochists.

In psychology, in the within the theory of cognitive dissonance,  there's the effort justification paradigm where behaviours become entrenched and people will go to great lengths to justify bad choices.
There's actually a fair bit of marketing related research (from the applied psychology end) into this.  I don't think Turbine knew what they were doing, but they did luck out by falling into a formula which resembles models that purposefully exploit this.

But I don't think you really wanted and answer, sorry  Wink

Anyone know if they'll put the Mabar trader up for us during this event?
