I agree too - I have a hard time believing my tastes are so unusual that they couldn't make a go of at least a few shows that don't make me turn off the TV in disgust.
I guess TV execs might be almost as out of touch as Turdbin devs.
But I voted with my wallet there too - I canceled cable and bought a bunch of DVDs of shows. Firefly, Dresden Files, Babylon 5. I may not get new episodes, but at least I know I'm not supporting Honey Boo Boo.
After all these years, imho Babylon 5 still rates as the best SciFi series I have seen. 5 seasons that are cohesive, consistent and have storylines woven throughout the entire series.
JMS did an amazing job with that series.
Haven't seen what he is working on lately - ooh - a Babylon 5 movie reboot in 2016! Awesome.
There are some great movies that support the series too, as well the Lost Tales made in 2007 to flesh out some plot lines.
If you haven't seen the series, check it out, you won't regret it.
