Great axe or Great swords?

So I'm dicking around with a make it up as I go along 12 fvs 8 fighter battle priest/kensai two handed fighter.

If I had a SoS and eSoS it would be a a no brained but I don't and it is not.

So which is the better option in terms of availability of different weapons at all levels and DPS?

it's unfortunate that one cannot respec enhancements in DDO. you know, this could be a really cheap way to adapt to whichever weapon you currently swing.

Level with a great axe. Switch to falchion for greensteel and thunderforge. Enhancement resets are cheap.

There are more quality greataxes easily available for levelling (carnifex, elemental of fire)...but falchion is better DPS when everything else is equal. You can sub in greatswords when it is convenient while specced for falch as well.

They've been arguing over the numbers for years.  Bottom line?  Greataxes look cool, greataxes are sexy.  Use the greataxe Wink

Only when the specific great axe that you have available is significantly better then the best available falchion; otherwise, falchion>great axe=great sword.

Huh what mail?
You meant on that other thread?
Can read what i wrote, i know all those things alrdy but not using.
Vault for me is a place where i can tell that some people are retards without getting a insta ban and where i can discuss with people about builds, only thing interesting in this game.

I cant write a single thread anymore or response on mother forums without getting reported by at least 10 people.
They hate me, idc that they do but its hard not to directly tell to a retard to check wiki before asking retarded questions.
Actually the last post i wrote to the dude asking for glancing on bastards for 2 wepf could had been at least smart enough to check feat description.
Vault is a nice place to discuss with sometimes smart people, if i disregard 95% trolls here like you are trying to be

If we're talking the exact same attributes, apparently greataxes SWING faster than greatswords do. But greatswords do 7 dmg while greataxes do 6,5 dmg on average.

For a WF or BF FvS with LoB as their patron, the TF Great Sword is better than an Epic SoS.

For me it was always about the EAG for relative ease of aquisition, base damage and universal DR breaking functionality.

Shade claimed that Greataxes swing faster than Greatswords.  I have never seen any evidence to back up that claim.

Serious question - isn't SWF supposed to be so god-like that a single Khopesh or Bastard Sword beats everything now?

Videos on the MB forum WAY back in the day showed greataxes 1-2% faster IIRC.

ATM SWF is quite good, but is getting further nerfed U24, so it will only really be worthwhile when swashing.

Yup they nerfed it. Although I wouldn't really call it 'nerf' now that I think about it. It was really a balancing issue, 200% percent was way too much.

He might alluding to the impending nerf to orbs+shield mastery which was beneficial to SWF?

Losing that doublestrike makes SWF a steaming pile of why bother unless you are swashing.
