DDO Down? *updated: ddo trouble tonight

Well, went to load up ddo today, and getting "No ddo subscription found" when putting in username and password. No emails in my email account though.

Odd. Got through finally. All in all, maybe 20 minutes of trying. Got a mix of errors, unable to queue for server, no account found... But, am logged on now, character intact. So not banned. Just... ddo server errors.

Further update:
So, was looking at https://myaccount.turbine.com/home.php to see if there was anything there. And, when I was having trouble logging on, that website showed I had no ddo subscriptions. Now, it is. So guessing whatever bug turbine's having is not limited to just the log in server.

Same weird issues here.

I logged in to check server activity levels (since I am considering a transfer). Logged off one server went to log on another. Got user name and pass word don't match. Then I got found no subscription found. Then I got as far as splash screen searching for log on server and it dropped me.

Forums are borked too. Booted me off the forums and trying to log in says they are having tech difficulties.

Meh, looks like no DDO tonight.

hmm,

They seem to have a backend database issue with the gls server ( the account authentication server )....

I'd really like to know the data models used for the game and the backend notwork architecture...
There's so many in game problems that seems to be related to both....

Surely a few probes could ascertain their structures well enough?

I had my userpreferences file wiped, as in did not exist.

I knew something funny happened when my account names were gone, I logged in, and checked my options and saw my screen settings were all back to default.

Which meant, if I had selected a character, my screen stuff would have all been mushed together.

I left all the music and sound effects playing so far.  Does not bother me as I am not wearing the headphones and I am just doing account maintenance crap.  Eventually, I will turn all sound down, narrator, music, sound effects, ddo overlord, yada yada yada........

I am just slowly trying to remember what I had in all of those things and change it to what I want again.  Then I will save the userpreference file somewhere.

Not that easy, the backend is on a separate network...

If you have an oldstyle ( pre-Akamai ) client lying around you will have the right files in c:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Turbine\Dungeons and Dragons Online\Launcher
that tell you some of the behind the scene shit like :

Code
Select All
World status servers:
    Cannith @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.59
    Wayfinder @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.53
    Argonnessen @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.56
    Thelanis @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.21
    Sarlona @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.22
    Khyber @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.23
    Ghallanda @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.64
    Orien @ http://gls.ddo.com/GLS.DataCenterServer/StatusServer.aspx?s=10.67.112.60

Since 10/8 is a private network ( as in : It is NEVER routed over the internet ) it's a clear clue that there is a backend network.

And beside those old ( pre-Akamai ) logs there's no way to find the rest of the addresses. There has to be a few IPs for database servers, and for GM/maintenance direct connection, but I never saw them in the logs, and since it's IPs that are not routed, they are not part of the normal DDO traffic between client and server...
I don't think we can pull out the back end information unless a dev posts a screenie with some of it ( like Kookie did once with direct DDO store links that could be used in a browser... before blacking up the chat box. [ that's how I learned that the Store is hosted by Akamai ]  )
