My gut feeling is that this is just bs... cause the vault.

If it is true, who gives a fuK? Marriage is bs anyway.

I'm more of a Comstar guy though.

Wow, there is a Steiner-Davion on the forums - never saw that before.
Boston area founder eh?
He could drop in a play LARP Pacman with the DDO crew.   Grin

I was a MWO founder, but got the shits with it in 2013, then PGI bought back the rights this year.

I started playing again (account is forever) over the holidays, and I was blown away by how they are trying to take care of the community. Tons of events, give aways, patches usually every month with new content. The turn around on bug is pretty amazing. The President of PGI now posts plans regularly, and has a 'town hall' meeting at least once a month.

And they finally have a working Beta form of community warfare, where your wins counts for the conquest and defense of planets. I lost days to dropping with groups on TS3. The year 3050 just started in the game universe, so perfect timing.

I highly recommend it to anyone who like builds, and fast play.

Oh, and screw Steiner, all hail the Free Rasalhague Republic!

When Jerry ran DDOCast (he started it when he was just a player - his DDO Forum handle back then was Mockduck), Seiner-Davion was a guest numerous times. Yeah, he's an old timer alright.

Thanks Grand.  That is good intel.
I loved the genre and the BT game before Topps mainstreamed it.

I've been meaning to get onto MWO, but I'm not really a twitch gamer and thought I'd have to endure being endlessly tea-bagged by 12 yr olds.   Undecided
Especially with the latency across the pond here.  300-400ms is a pretty big advantage to give, unless I take an artillery unit I suppose....   Grin

Also, only have time for one game, so DDO would probably have to go, which is becoming less of a sacrifice these days.

It does sound tempting to play a game with a professional development team and actual community relations.  Would make a nice change!

What is the server structure like?
Are there any regional servers?  Do you recommend any?
Do they have guilds/clans/house affiliations or is everyone a merc?

Shadowrun, sure was good, but my favorite was the short lived earthdawn game. It was just brilliant and was years ahead of any other game in regards to role playing game mechanics, and open world design.

In fact, the format for the magic items really foreshadowed the tiered system that is basis of so much loot throughout RPG's and MMORPG's today.

nah, it was a massive improvement in mechanics and product publishing design and player engagement.

Granted they did share a lore core to some extant but the Earthdawn rules were revolutionary and impact the TTrpg systems of 2005- onward, whereas the concept itself of Shadowrun had been remarkable, but the mechanics were more of a bridge between 80's and 90's systems.

Honestly the systems from Earthdawn were one of the only ones to be carried forward and implemented/copied in RPG design after Magic laid waste to 5 solid years of TT RPG systems.

I knew and played with many of the writers and artists on both systems,  it was a heady time.

Divorce isn't a joking matter. Sorry to hear about it Jerry.

Divorce is always "congratulations" not "sorry."

If you or both parties initiated it, then you or both of you are better off. If she initiated it, and he's sad about it, he's still better off and will be in the long run. The sooner he starts seeing divorce as a positive, the sooner he'll be better off.

So, congratulations Jerry!

Going to go on record as saying the victims are his family, his friends and his wife, not Jerry.  I could find dozens of pictures of him if I wanted because he's as good at setting his privacy settings as he is as playing ddo.

So Jerry, get a fucking clue and protect the people you care about.  If it hasn't sunk in yet, you've got a high profile job that exposes you to a lot of asshats.  Do the people you care about a solid and lock your shit down.

I really don't get why people are saying divorce is bad. Clearly it wasn't making them happy and they decided to end it.

It's worse to stay together for kids while being unhappy - then the kids learn that shitty marriages are the way to go.

Nope. There are no victims here. Divorce is a path forward out of a bad situation. The kids will be fine.

I think you hit quote on the wrong post.  Mostly agree though.

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

It is bad, because the kid would then have to grow up with a single parent shithead. Cordovan is just like uska, no wonder his wife finally broke up with him.
