Thanks. I tried playing the other day, my reflexes have really slowed down for the game.  Luckily I was on my monk, so I was invincible, so it didn't matter.

Pain is the only justification of life. I acknowledge the pain and let it flow out of me.

It has been months since I have logged in, and over a year since I have really played the game. I have no idea what Cordovans Reign of WTF is. I will assume massive bannings of anyone who dares to speak out against his Tarrant self.

My views for the warlock would be one of two things; Make summons Viable, some sort of artificer/druid/skelly knight pet; or for melee shape shifting into a demon/devil (for flavor) with the enhancements to go with it.

I cannot imagine them actually implementing an effective infinite spell casting system with eldritch blast that would be effective in raids or EE content. I could be wrong, except it is turbine, so I have no fears.

I should be clear, my views for what they will do, not my views for what I would like to see.

I've got a feeling that rather than infinite spell points, they'll pay lip service to the fact that warlocks actually use sphere based sla's.

They'll achieve this by giving warlocks free eschew materials.  It'll save them from having to recode every spell, and it wont completely invalidate sorcs.

That would be sweet, you know, if materials actually costed something.

Spoilers:

(excitement) "... now, if warlock will be as satisfying as I hope where they really do their eldritch blast, I think that will be a really cool class to play. So, you'll be shooting eldritch blast and then pick another kind of thing and your eldritch blast will turn to ice and then you pick another thing and then your eldritch blast will be a cone and do some AoE, and then you'll have like a small selection of spells in order to improve your defenses and offense. I'm hoping that Warlock will be really cool, we haven't added a class in awhile and I think that it will be a really unique playstyle because they focus on their arcane blast, it is sort of like a combination of ranged with arcane spellcaster instead of just another flavor of sorcerer and wizard. One of the thing about them is the flavor of what path you make which are tied in their trees, Angelic, Dragon and Demonic which change your eldritch blasts, we're hoping that it will provide a very unique class experience unlike anything else."

Quote from the executive producer. One thing certain is that the eldritch blast will play a major role in the new class and it will set the main class customization.

I just noticed that the enhancement trees of the upcoming Warlock class are also part of the Shavarath lore, so I'm betting on that they will be released along with epic Amrath.

Unique has to be the most unnecessarily modified word in English.

Sure they could.
You could have a premium enhancement tree in each class that is bought/earned.
Only problem is Turdbine wouldn't balance the other trees properly, and would just stick all the good stuff in the pay-for tree.   Undecided

Not since dictionaries added "special" as a new definition of "unique."

Instead, shit like that is why we're losing the ability to say, "the only one of its kind," without using that whole phrase.

Maybe, but it would not be good for the game if they did it that way.

You want the core trees (FTP) to be solid, and the premium trees to offer a different play experience, rather than just power creep.
Otherwise, you'll have the Chai's bleating about DDO has becoming P2Win blah blah...
