It will prolly be recipes like the anniversary cards since Jerry`s 3 and 4 card gave him Robe of Shadows lvl 8 but...
As long as devs aren`t spawning motes for Lama players to figure out the combos before the event goes live we are screwed.
Imagine this scenario:
I want a Cloak of shadows
Grind grind grind on all my toons to get motes->turn them into cards->get multiple trash cards (by trash cards i mean less than card V) -> Scoring a card X after 1000 motes turned in,in 1 week running non stop -> Try my highest cards combo lets say VIII and X and getting a Docent in return......on a fleshy barbarian
Dont give me but you can wait till other people get screwed and figure out the turn ins (since devs stated they wont hint the combos for us because it will be exciting to try it ourselves)
From the moment an event promotes failing as valid strategy to get rewards you know its doomed.
Most of us are that close to quitting this fucking game its like turbine is yanking our chains to push us at that option with their crappy moves.
Btw i am not beta testing their shit, the last 2 days i spent on lamannia i hardly logged in the live server (actually learned that the winter event was on live from general chat in Lama) so far noone seems to give a fuck about the mimic event and just tries wierd builds for free and i cant blame them.
Agreed - randomly burning mats to "discover" recipes is not a good idea.
Someone has to pave the way and sacrifice their stuff for shit they don't need. It's not mysterious, it s just daft.
And once it is done and published - what then?
For these farm/grind events, let the mote drops be random, but the reward list defined.
Mabar was good in this respect - I knew exactly how much I needed to make what I needed. I knew roughly the rate at which I could collect so I knew how long it would take roughly.
(the uncertainty in "rough" mostly came from lowbies running around Level 24+ instances spawning lots of crap).
