WoT used to be good.  I played quite a bit(25,000ish battles), have almost every premium tank in the game(other than some of the ultra rare limited release) but the game went in a direction I didn't care for.  That's when I made my return to DDO.  WoT is still a good game I guess, but no longer fits my style of play.

I've spent about $400-500 since 2010, but most of that was before 2013. I spent about $60 in 2013, and notning in 2014. I still play occasionally, and I've got 10k TP banked in case they come up with anything new worth buying. I own most packs up to and including MOTU, nothing since.

I used to buy TP just to support the company, even if there wasn't anyting I wanted at the time. Now I'm committed to not spending another cent until they've got an established track record of treating their customers like something more valuable than dog crap.

I figure about 9 months without a punch to their customers' collective groin and I'll consider spending again, but good old Severus Snape or what the hell ever he calls himself isn't doing so well on that metric.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Still VIP... I know I'm the idiot around here.

But hell, it's less than 10€ a month for me, I can afford it for the 500TP that comes with it. ( I'm still on the American 6 Month/59.95$ scheme... )

I will say I think the Winter festivals are balanced right. You don't get that much, but it isn't a complete waste. Meanwhile, the grind is not hard. Almost no need for dupping. Make an Iconic monk; jump off the tavern. Repeat until life loses all meaning. Done.

Fixed afaik, tho jumping to mast and abundant stepping works too. And honestly the jump is cake too. go down it with skates and ff turn off ff when you are just above the corner pipe, go forward, press jump at end of pipe, go forward, press jump at end of pipe and bam you have about 4 whites a blue and a purple. take the port spot under ladder by turn in guy and repeat. takes like 30 sec.

What about prior to 2 years ago?

I'm with you on the cosmetic shit, btw Tongue Lame-ass garbage!

Before that I subbed from 2006 until it went F2P, then I used the free TP they gave me to buy all the packs I wanted. Since then I bought MotU when it was on sale, I think I paid $12. Everything else I've gotten from the TP I accumulate while TRing.

jump from tavern still works - only need some boost to jump skill. tho i agree is as easy doing intended way - i actually have more problem to not overflow any destination and need turn back in midair:) bbiggest nuisance is lack of harbor instances, so u cant switch and farm quickly

Veep & expansions & sometimes when points are on sale.  I tried ending vip and buying the packs but I'm lazy and vip is cheap.

I've been VIP for over 4 years and I still play the game.  I don't do much of the activities here, mostly because I just don't feel like doing it.  I figure my $10/month is a 2-hour crappy movie I don't see, or a 12-pack of beer I don't buy.  Well worth it.

I only sub when I have chunks of time (1 or 2 months where I am not working constantly) in order to play new content. Other than that I am mostly f2p.

I bought all contect and races, unless drow. I also prepurchased both expansions. And I had a VIP going for 3-6 months for the special VIP event after they introduced epic and iconic 'TR'.

And about the expansion... I think MotU was worth the money. It's still one of my favourite areas in DDO and I like the quests. But ok... I really don't like the raid. But with all the other quests and stuff in the pack it's not too bad that I don't like the raid.

The second expansion was the real bummer for me...

But I never bought Ottos boxes or something like that. Was just too expensive in my opinion and I tried not to break the 12-15$/month limit. Because I also think, that if I pay much more than that then I can also go back to some pay2play game without stuff like xp potions and usually a better level of support and bug fixing.

And I bought my gargantuan bag way before I knew of any dupes. Was back in the time when I started with the game and didn't know how easy it is to get several large ing bags by doing several TRs. And at that time I needed at least one month for a TR...

The exploits never made me buy additional stuff from the store, but it increased my play experience for a while because I didn't have to worry about some evil grinds anymore and could focus on some other activities ingame.

So... I am not sure how much money I spent in total, but it's at least more than 400$.

I also know that this information should be enough to track me down in their database. Wink

Sub costs me less than buying 2-4 new games every month. I never thought any game would hold my attention for this long. It was a good run.

Customization of builds was always a strong point of DDO, but under Sev, toons are getting less diverse. It's beginning to bore me.

i used to pump a shit load of money into the game because

1) i had plenty of extra

2) i was still enjoying most of the game

3) i hoped and believed my money was used to improve the game

with the implementation of the shard house, i stopped giving them money. They recognized that they could make more money from selling loot than making the game not suck. Unfortunately I was not looking to spend money on loot i was only interested in the game not sucking. Realizing that was no longer something that my money might affect, i closed my wallet.

i did however get the shadowfell expansion + iconics, and like 6 glamering kits since then with real life dollars because i just wanted that shit immediately/ preorder. everything else i got since u17 was with earned favor tp.

I spend more money on my vice of choice and I bet that's true of all of us.

I also get more enjoyment per dollar out of the game, even though it does lag and has other problems.

So I buy TP when I run low.  I buy TP as gifts for friends who play.  I should go buy some right now.

I bought skyrim when it came out.  it's still in the package.  finally got off my ass to play dragon age.  if I wasn't in a guild with cool peoples though I wouldn't play much at all.

Buy me a mirror of glamering. I didn't get to test the weapon-copy on the Festival altars on Lama.

That's been another benefit of DDO. All the games I didn't play over the years are still there, fully playable. And now they're in the bargain bin for $5.

I preordered both expansions and bought all packs on sale with points that were on sale and then a few boxes.

It's added up over the years, but I can't imagine ever needing to buy points again.
